Slow Transmission (if that makes sense)

Just wanted to share something and see if its just me or a cause of concern.

Whenever I am backing out of a parking space, or doing a 3 point turn about, at the time that I stop the car and shift the gear to drive i experience a 2-3 second lag in the car changing from Reverse to Drive. Is that normal?

Without completely stopping, if I shift it to Drive, the car kinda jolts into Drive. (basically not coming to a complete stop before changing gears, just coasting). If i shift gears (with the same scenario) with my brother's Audi A4, or my Father's Navigator, I don't feel that jolt. Should I just make complete stops, or is this cause for concern????

If you drive an automatic you are supposed to come to a complete stop before reversing direction. Check you fluid, if it's not low take it in and have it checked out, you may have damaged your transmission.

yeah dude -- you should really come to a complete stop before shifting -- less stress on the driveline and tranny... yikes, 3 seconds??
