G37x Stalls At Startup

Hi all,

I have a 2009 g37x automatic, and I’m having an issue which has has no code to it. When I start my car, at times it will turn off during the initial starting stage. Attempt #2 will do the same thing unless I quickly put my foot on the gas pedal for it to start properly. This has been ongoing for months now and it happens on random start ups. I checked the battery, that is still healthy. Any ideas or suggestions what the issue may be? Thank you!!

Try cleaning the throttle bodies. You will need to do the idle air relearn / throttle position reset after you're done. I had this issue when I had my '11. It was under warranty, so I took it in and they replaced the throttle bodies. I assume that a cleaning should also be effective.

Perform after cleaning:

Hey Shub, did you try cleaning the throttle bodies as suggested? I occasionally have the same issue and was wondering if cleaning them cured the issue for you.

I know this is an old thread but my sons 2011 sedan was doing the same thing. Random stalling at start up we cleaned the throttle bodies even though they looked clean from the front side. Once we removed them i was shocked at how dirty they were on the backside. Once we cleaned them. The car ran perfect afterwards if you dont disconnect the power and just move them out of the way to clean them you dont need to do the relearn process
