Bad differential?

Ive had my G for about 2 years now, 09 G37X sedan 7at. Came across an issue where as i come to a stop it felt like the transmission would slip into neutral and id have to wait for it to go back into gear to be able to move. Put the car in park then back in drive and it would still not move until it slammed into gear. If i gave it gas, it would just rev up. It would shift and during easy acceleration, the rpms would be very inconsistent when shifting.

Scanned the car w snapon scan tool from my job and found a code for a tsb. Told infiniti and they claimed it had already been done and refused to try it again. Ended up replacing the transmission with a used one w 20K less miles.

since then (less than 3 months ago) the issue is still happening. Scanned the car again and no codes at all. I feel like it has to be drivetrain related but i cant find anything similar to this issue. Going to drain nd fill the rear diff and see if theres any shavings, but if anybody has dealt with something similar or has some advice, please share. I love the car but am not wanting to continuously dump thousands into it. Considered trading it in but dont even know if thats worth it with how the car market is right now.

Hey so I'm not sure what you're issue is but I do notice in my 09 37x that there is this drag when it shifts sometimes. I excuse it for it being an AWD model but something about it doesn't seem right.

Is this what you mean or is it different.
do you know the drag I'm talking about? Feels like it should downshift but it gets sluggish and slows down like it upshifted or something. Idk.

Sry I can't help with ur question!

Its not so much a drag rather than complete lack of power. This morning for example the car was very sluggish than normal. And as i come to stops i can actually feel the transmission shift once i stop. Then once i try to move and accelerate, if it has not shifted back, than it revs up and slams into gear and ill get moving. Not sure if possibly the transmission that i replaced was bad aswell and just a series of bad luck, but theres no light for it and no codes for it. Kind of not sure where to go from here. May just take it to infiniti and get quoted more than i spent on the car lol

So turns out the clutch on the used transmission i got was in worse condition than the original one to the car and because the 7AT a sealed unit, theres not really an easy way to check it prior to installation. Had the shop foreman at my job go for a ride in the G and as soon as he put it in drive said its the transmission. Luckily when i got the used one i got a 2 year warranty with it. So hopefully if all goes well ill get my replacement in by the end of the week and have the car running good again by next weekend.
