Tinted windshield?
Tinted windshield?
I wanted to tint my windshield, it has the factory glass still, and the thin tint across the top….I asked my tinter do do it and he said it’s not recommended because it could cause the glass to crack, I trust him so I just forgot about it and left it. Now last last week I met another tinter and asked his opinion, he said it should be no problem, but he did say the other guy was partially right in that it could cause cracking if the wrong film is used.
So anyway, has anyone here tinted their windshield? My interior is a bit light for me so I’d love to have it done.

A lot of us have tinted our windshields and no problem. This is the first I've ever heard about any windshields "cracking" from window tint. I have had 6 cars with window tint and they lasted 5+ years no problems. You should be good.
Proceed with tint
I also have 6 vehicles all with full windshield tint some has ceramic and some with traditional tint. I have zero issues. Great for the summer and helps interior from sun damage.
Here are Canadian tint laws by Province: https://www.tinting-laws.com/canada/
^Thx for that, none is allowed in my area but I don’t plan to go dark, and also plan to run a banner so it will appear not-tinted. Tinter was supposed to do it last week, then this week, so just waiting on him.
