Tint for G37s

What % tint should I get on my g37s coupe.
I was thinking windows 10%, very back window 15%, and the windshield like 50% or nothing
or
I was thinking getting 15% everywhere, and the windshield no tint.

Any suggestions or ideas?

ok. here's my advice on window tint:

Tint as dark or as light as you feel comfortable driving with and feel comfortable with the vehicle laws in your area. keep 2 things in mind.
1. driving at night
2. other people looking at your car (including police officers)

oh, and welcome to the forum. there are many posts on this subject. if you type "tint" into the white search bar on the top of the page and hit enter you will get a plethora of information on this topic.

good luck.

It depends on your area, legislation, enforcement and need for the tint. Look at the photo section and see what you like, and pm a few members. Get some scraps from a dealer, tape them to the windows, and you can get a sense of what you like for aesthetics, and what visibility will be like. Better to get it right the first time, or you'll pay them again to remove and reapply. Or if your one of those drivers that likes to pick their nose, limo 5% all the way around so we don't have to see it.

Yeah I been searching around for about 1 hour. I love 15%, but I think 5% is too dark. Also I couldn't find any pictures of windshield tint. I'm hesitant about windshield tint because If I can in an accident, it's all my fault, correct? But I might get 50% windshield tint if anything, or do you think that will look dumb?

laws vary wildly by municipality. I would doubt that 35% or 50% would automatically justify a guilt by association anywhere. Look in the garage and you'll find most members that post pics have pics of tinted vehicles. If they don't specify the tint, pm and ask them. Really consider how the tint will affect nighttime visibility. 15% would be too dark at nighttime for me. 5% really should just be for show cars that are only driven during the day, and don't rack up too many miles. Your quest for the best looking tint shouldn't put you or others in danger. If you are young, tint may cause you to get pulled over more often than old farts with or without tint.

50 is too dark for windshield .... IMHO you are going too dark everywhere, you are just begging for trouble.

I have 15% all around. If you're interested I could take some pictures in the sun so you can see how it looks...

I think tinting your windshield is dangerous and is illegal in a number of states IIRC. But yeah tinting is dependent on where you live and where you drive around most. Some states/municipalities are lenient, some are strict. One thing that you can do to protect yourself, your tint, and possibly reduce the chance for a ticket is to roll down all your windows whenever you get stopped by a cop. This was one of the tricks I learned when I used to volunteer at the local fire dept. The cops would come chill and this is what they told me. Pull over ASAP. Turn off car completely and roll down all your windows, regardless of whether you have tint or not. Take keys out and put on dash (makes cops feel at ease knowing you aren't gonna just take off and make them go on a wild car chase).

Like many people have said. Check with your state law and follow those rules. You don't have to pay for like a $200 tint job and get pulled over and have to pay another $200 to fix it.

In the future if you insist on inquiring of the entire internet community what tint they think you should get for your car, state where you live and post it in the appropriate regional forum. I live in Texas and the laws are completely different than where yo may live so how can I advise you?
