Replacing Axle shafts; any advice?

I put on the swift springs and kyb struts, and in the process of stretching the lower control arm down to remove the stockers, I managed to break boots on both sides! Looking at just putting in new ones since they are not that expensive than to try and hassle w/stretching new boots on existing ones. Any good how to's on this process? Also, I'm torn between buying a new set from Rockauto from Cardone (w/lifetime warranty) vs getting a remanufactured (18 month warranty). I'm suspecting the new ones are made in China, whereas the remanufactured I'm guessing are originals coming from Japan, which is way preferred. Anybody do this, and what was your experience? Thanks in advance.
