Sunroof delete
Has anyone ever removed the sunroof and replaced it with a roof not designed with a sunroof in mind?
- More head room
- Less weight
- Lower center of gravity
- Exterior easier to clean
- Sunroof leak issue gone
- Easier to wrap

From 2011 to 2012, Infiniti was selling a version of the G37 Sedan called the G25, with a tiny V6 and fewer standard features. The base model did not have a sunroof.
Also in 2009, the Moonroof was optional, even though most G's were built with one. So I assume the same for the 2007 and 2008 G35 Sedan.

So theoretically... yes, you could chop your roof and replace it.

Chopping the roof wouldn't be easy, nor would it be necessary, but the alternative still wouldn't be easy either. Either option is going to require glass removal, but the "simpler" option would be to locate a non sunroof roof, then drill out the spot welds with a spot weld cutter, then repeat the process with your roof, then slowly spot weld in the donor roof.

Heh, I'll never have a pool ever again. I used to install and sell pools years back. When I had a pool I think I swam in it maybe 15 times in 12 years.

If my sunroof ever started leaking bad, or broke, I could totally relate to putting a blank on the roof.
Really don't care for the whole sunroof/moonroof thing. I virtually never use it. Don't like the glare, or the noise, or forgetting it was open when parking.

Wow, that's awesome. I had no idea there was such a thing.

I thought I wanted a sunroof after having a car with ttops. Turns out the sunroof got minimal use. Barely a handful of times a year in the G. On the other car I think the roof has been opened two times in the last 6 years. I'll gladly accept a car without a sunroof these days. Probably less flex, definitely less rattles as the car ages, nothing to leak or shatter over your head.
