Best axle back with no drone/excessive loudness
I'm looking for an axle back for my sedan but I don't have anything excessively loud. I'd like to be able to have conversations in the car and not wake up neighbors at night but I want something that can still make some sound and be audible from a distance. Anybody know of any?
I got the Top Speed axelback (no muffler version) sounds good and it’s definitely not loud enough to **** off neighbors or wake em up. At 2000-3000 rpm it really opens up, sounds deep and decently loud really bings our that VQ sound. At highway speeds it gets more quiet (still louder than stock) without any drone. Revel also makes a great axelback, all depends on which one you prefer.

HFC or resonated test pipes. You will have some more noise but less noise than a axle back and little to no drone. I have ISR resonated test pipes, no CEL, no rasp with stock exhaust and it opens up right after 3.5K-7.5K. Regardless of what axle back you go with, it will always drone specially when you’re doing 70+ on cruise control the noise will be there, unless you don’t mind it. Cold stars on a cold day are loud with axle back also. I first had top speed non resonated axle back, and it’s only loud from idle to 4.5K after that it’s quiet. But with test pipe and stock exhaust it’s stock at lower speeds with a change in tone but gets a bit louder where you get that VQ noise in the cabin at higher RPM range. Btw before making a purchase just take out the rear mufflers and drive it down the street it will basically be 90% the same sound.
