Buying new wheels

Hello, everyone. I currently drive an 09 G37x sedan with the stock 17 inch wheels on 225/55R17 tires. I was looking around at used wheels and I came across the AVID1 AV6 wheels in hyper black. They are 18x8 in. with a 30mm offset on 235/40R18 tires. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they would fit and not throw off the AWD system and whatnot. Thank you!

Those will throw off your speedo reading slightly. Those tires are about 0.5" shorter overall than the factory size. Other than that, they should fit perfectly!

Shoudln't affect your AWD since theyre all the same diameter. But the difference in overall circumference is only 2%, so in reality you won't even notice the difference in speedo reading vs actual speed.

You should be good to go!!

Just a sidenote.... I'm totally jealous that you're getting those wheels. Hopefully you are, I know it's been a few days and no one else had given you any feedback so I hope no one snatched them up before you.

Those wheels look SICK on G's. Plus hyperblack is super classy yet agressive. What color is your G?

Those 235/40/18 are WAY short.

26.74 original
25.40 with the 235/40/18

1.34" difference.

No, this will not work properly.

At the least, you'll need tyres in the correcr size.

On a 8" wheel...225/50/18 is about right. 245/45/18 is pushing it, width wise.

Easy equation you can DIY...

[((Width x (Aspect Ratio/100)) × 2)/24.5] + rim dia

or google a tyre size calculator. Idk...never used one.

Ahh, I just googled the overall height of the stock tire size and the ones on the wheels he's looking at. Guess google was wrong. My bad.

That would look funny too. Not sure if OP's car is lowered or not, but especially if it's not... the normal fender gap plus smaller tires would look goofy.

235/40/18 will work and doesn't look much different. You will get a big acceleration boost! I ran them for a short time with snow tires. 245/40/18 fit a lot better though. As long as the diameter in the front and rear match it doesn't matter. Just run them if they are a good deal until they wear and get a bigger size.
