Transmission Mount Questions

After 5 years with the Z1 Polyurethane Transmission Mount, I'm considering going back to OEM. If you value the added NVH brought about with the Z1 mount, it's certainly a worthy mod. I mean, not all NVH is bad. And there's a valid argument about how shifting is improved when the drivetrain is more solid to the frame. I have no regrets. It was a $200 part, and maybe a 1-hour install. It's not a complicated mod. But lately I've been thinking I might like to soften things up a bit.

Now I'm pretty sure the original mount is up in the attic somewhere, but I got to thinking maybe I'd prefer to start fresh, with a brand new transmission mount. And that's where I have some questions.

Is this part the same for the 6MT as it is for the automatic?

Can anyone kindly find the part for me? Because I've not been able to dial into the exact part number on these InfinitiParts websites. I keep coming away frustrated and empty-handed.

Here's a pic of the Z1 mount when it was new... just because pics are fun.

And here's a pic of the original mount when it was replaced... looking kind of rusty and tired. You can see the difference easily between poly and a fluid-filled bushing.

Interesting how the lower bracket is aluminum, just like the Z1, but the rest of it is steel.

That's the original shifter next to it, BTW. They were both upgraded at the same time.

And yes, there's nothing between that greasy mess and my wife's table cloth but a thin paper towel. OMG, that was stupid... LOL

Part#: 11320-1EA0A

Looks to be the same between auto and manual but I will let someone else confirm.

That's a $70 difference between Z1 and that parts site. I wonder why that is?

Z1 is listing this as 11320-1EA0A, just like Rob posted. However that parts site is listing it as 11320-EG800.

Z1's part number 11320-1EA0A is for the 370z and I suspect it is a different stiffness compared to the G37, but would fit.

According to parts.infinitiusa.com, the 11320-EG800 is for:
INFINITI EX35 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017
INFINITI EX37 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017
INFINITI FX35 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012
INFINITI FX37 2013
INFINITI G25 2011, 2012, 2013
INFINITI G35 2007, 2008
INFINITI G37 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
INFINITI M35 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
INFINITI M37 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
INFINITI M45 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
INFINITI M56 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
INFINITI Q40 2014, 2015
INFINITI Q60 2014, 2015
INFINITI Q70 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
INFINITI QX70 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

So, what are you going to get?

So... 1EA0A is for the 370Z, and EG800 is for everything else? I suppose that makes some sense.

That's a very good question.

Get both, for research purposes of’course lol, and
return the one you choose not to use.

It would be great if the 370z mount was stiffer than the factory G37 mount for those of us that don’t want the extra NVH an aftermarket mount brings with it.

Right, that's the question. Now that I know there are two: one for the Z, and one for every other Nissan.

And assuming that the Z mount is somewhere in the middle between OEM and Poly... then perhaps the Z mount is the way to go.

God damn it. LOL

Now my interest has been peaked...... as I've wanted a mount that was a little firmer, but not as much as the polly,,,,,,,
Not ready to swap mine out yet (just other things have a higher priority), so looking forward to what transpires with this ..........

Well it might be a while for me too. I'm very slow to do things between idea and execution. And at this point I'm still not 100% about the differences. The only serious bug in my head is the idea of ditching my poly mount.

Since you have a spare one, lets experiment.

Find it, drill it out and fill it with some poly of your choosing, since the install is not so complicated you could try to fill it and compare.
By experimenting with your old one maybe you can find an "in between" between comfort and stiffness.

No, I don't have your creative inspiration for projects like that.

And a year later, I've still not done anything and don't know if I will. Sorry.

I have the same mount. I was thinking about putting different material in place of the polyurethane. Something in between the PU and the OEM boot filled gummies. These aftermarket mounts do come apart so you can put a filling of your choice.

I'm also not feeling the NVH that comes with the PU mount. I feel that the benefits do not outweigh the NVH.

They are a circular puck internally and Energy suspensions should carry replacements however per Z1 their engine mounts come with a 70a PU bush which is one of the softest poly you can get. I dont think you can go lower on the engine mounts without sacrificing squish over time since the engine is so damn heavy and when you think about it a liquid filled mount starts to make sense.

I'm unsure about the harness of the transmission mount however if indeed is the same 70a as the motor mount this again starts to limit the limits of how soft you could go. Now the transmission mount helps more with side to side movement than weight balance unlike the engine mounts which take most of the weight.

You could get away with a softer compound however I would not try anything lower than 60a if they make it.
