Suspension shot - looking to upgrade
Suspension shot - looking to upgrade
After driving on NYC roads (I'm being generous calling them "roads") for the past 8 years I am now in need of new struts, top mounts, links, and bushings, front and rear for all 4 wheels. Since I am going to be replacing them, I'd like to upgrade them as well. This community helped me a lot seven years ago when I upgraded my suspension and wheels (https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...6mt-sedan.html) and I look forward to hearing everyone's opinions.
Currently, the only mods I have Eibach springs, sway bars, and alignment kit (came as a package) along with SSR GTV03 19 x 8.5/9.5 wheels, wrapped in Michelin PSS 245/45 and 275/40. I also have aftermarket brake pads and rotors, but I don't think that will make any difference.
Any thoughts on which direction to go? I like a nice, tight ride, and I like to feel every pebble in the road, but I don't want to feel like my car is going to fall apart as it sounds like now.
Thanks in advance!!!
By the way, I probably should mention that it is a 2012 G37S 6MT sedan.

My vote would be for Revel coilovers if you're looking to stay below $1K for everything. It'll be a better ride than just shocks and springs. The shocks are also monotube, so it should give you that "high definition" road feel.
If you can swing a bit more money, Fortune Auto is likely the best available system for this car in the $1500 range.

Well, you didn't mention budget. So, I have a 2013 Sedan Sport (no 6mt wah wah wah)
Fortune Auto 500 series gen 7 from concept z performance
Voodoo Front Upper Control arms from concept z performance
Rear traction and camber arms from Z1 Motorsports
SPC Rear Toe bolt (one set as I have the adjustable camber arms above)
While I'm only dropping the car about an inch, I don't want some crazy toe, camber or other alignment setting that's going to ruin over $1000 in tires. The components above allow me to get alignment back in OE spec and lower 1 inch.

Thank you for the replies - I guess then if I go with the coilovers, I will have to retire the Eibach springs? It was the only part of the suspension still good :-)
Also, although there is no real cap on the budget, I'd like to keep everything under $2500.

At least the Eibachs will gain you a little bit of the money back. If only I could say I didn't have a cap on my car mod budget... lol

I don't think you need all those alignment arms to lower 1", do you?
My 1" drop needed nothing to get everything in "green". I think the biggest camber angle ended up at like -1.x degrees. Not harmful at all.
Toe was easily within spec for me.

It's all how much you want to "risk" in labor. Everything I've read on 370 and myg37 says it literally depends on the car. I only plan on dropping an inch and Z1 was adamant that I would need FUCA's despite me not purchasing their product.
