What would be a good exhaust system to get for an 09 G37x sedan to replace the stock exhaust that won't break the bank account or cause check engine lights? Looking for something deep sounding but not too loud that will also improve performance.

Thanks for a recommendation, looked around on Ebay for pricing but didn't see one for a 2009 G37x Sedan on there.

The Top Speed fitment is spotty at best.

Anything on Ebay is really low quality.

Personally this car is not a budget mod type of car. Can you do a "muffler delete" yes. Will it sound like crap yes.

I am not yanking on the Top speed as I actually like its sound. Just the fitment is where I tend to shy away.

Personally I just ordered the Stillen catback system. I was going to go Invidia but I like a more quieter tone since I normally drive my G longer highway distances and dont want to hear the loud drone for 300 miles at a time.

 

You made me laugh. But yeah sometimes you can find the goodies on Ebay for a lesser price or make an offer and save with free shipping vs using a online site that is overpricing things like a stealership. No, I won't be doing a muffler delete. Would like to find some highflow cats though.

Came across this on good ole Ebay and has good reviews eventhough It's not a full system would be maybe half way there I suppose. Maybe someone out there has tinkered with this one?

 

I am sure the stillen catback is among the top exhausts out there, I seen the Invidia one on Ebay listed. I am going for more of deeper tone ultimately but hopefully not too annoying or high pitched.

 

I like the HKS line. However most of the HKS parts I see these days are generally catbacks on G35's and 350Zs. HKS only makes a single catback for out cars and most of the time they are Coupe specific only.

Now take the part you posted. Your G37 would need two of those at the $425 price. So 850 for two mufflers they are sold by the each. its not what you are looking for or want to be honest. You want a full catback. The Topspeed is OK and in your pricepoint. Just be prepared for some minor fitment issues so maybe a muffler shop is your best bet for install. However TopSpeed always has a backorder issue so a heads up.

To your HighFlow question. Alot of topics and reviews around. I would suggest watching some youtube videos etc on the subject before you commit. And if you do buy just get the bunghole extenders so your CEL light is minimal. As far as emissions testing etc.. If you live in a state that has smog testing you may fail or pass depending on the state. Some states are weird about aftermarket parts being on the car even if they are not throwing a code.

 

I have the ARK full exhaust system and it works perfect.

This exhaust is what you want honestly. Now you will most likely get sticker shock when you see the price. Sometimes a great deal comes up on the classifieds for one. This is what you should wait and buy when you are ready. It's definitely loud and gives a great tone.

Yeah, sometimes waiting and getting what you really want is better then just getting something fast that won't meet expectations.

 

Go on YouTube and just type in ark exhaust G37. I am sure you will like what you hear. Most of the vids the cars have a high flow or test pipes so take note in the description what they have if you want that sound exactlly.
