i got a hit and run. Insurance (State Farm) doesn't seem like they will pay the bill.


What is an estimate to get this fixed?

 

If you have full coverage why wouldn't this be covered?

Probably a few gran at least.

Had something similar but not as bad. Final total came out to $1400

 

So why isn't insurance picking this up?

 

Long story short, hit and run driver was located but claimed that it was their fault. I had to haggle with their insurance company only to be let down by them. State farm claimed they couldn't do anything so I cancelled them couple weeks after.

I think a shop would normally replace the door skin (unless there's additional hidden damage behind the skin), paint, blend, etc.. The lower rocker looks damaged too, as does the front door. White is a difficult color to match, so even if you buy one in good shape it will need to be painted/blended.

I can see your insurance declining repairs if you didn't have full coverage. Otherwise, if you encounter an asshat insurance co, you make the claim through yours and they collect from the other company/party. Can't see a hit and run claim counting against you.
