I'm guessing you guys can't use a frame that covers any part of the plate.
I go through a carbon fiber plate frame about every 4 years (on multiple cars at this point). The SC sun wears away at clearcoat and epoxy - we've got enough UV down here to sterilize a mule. Wait...
I don't use a frame, but do use a clear cover. Any kind of cover is illegal in PA but if I ever got called on it I would explain the only reason it is covered is because some cut the corner off my plate before. With the cover and security screws most people wouldn't waste their time.

We're not allowed to have a plate cover in NY either. I follow your reasoning, stealthee, but would rather not give traffic cops any reason to pull me over in the first place. Granted, I've got other things going on, a loud exhaust and a heavy foot just to name a few, but anyway. There it is.

I have never understood with states that have laws around not having any sort of plate cover allowed why do the dealerships sell you cars with their plate covers on them. I know for marketing reasons but doesn't make sense to me.

From my personal experience (and I've got A LOT of experience), when it comes to PA state cops usually are lax on the lesser laws, like the plate cover, and even tint. It is the local yokels that try to puff their chest out and flex on people with the smaller things.

just installed the brace yesterday. What a difference it made. I highly recommend getting the bells raceworks differential brace. It is an easy install 15min.
Wrap finally came in and started my interior project. I know its not everyones cup of tea but, decided to go with a forged carbon wrap for the interior. Fell in love with the forged carbon on a couple of Lambos from last car season so decided to give it a go. Small sample size but hopefully will have it completed by the weekend.
My project progress is about to go into overdrive. I got furloughed/laid off (for at least 30 days) yesterday so I plan to make a list of things I want to get done over the next month.
A few things that come to mind off the top of my head are to:
- Go through 3000GT and DSM parts I have sitting around that need to go on eBay and get them on eBay.
- Go through my 3000GT and fix a few little things that have been bugging me since I got it on the road.
- Start getting the body sanded down and get some cheap paint off Summit to get it all in one color. (Its currently Black, blue, red, white, and a dash of maroon)
- Start tearing down my twin turbo engine to get it prepped for the rebuild.
Of course I'll have some household things I want to get knocked out while I am off. I'm just going to need to keep myself motivated.
Really can't tell from those pics at all, they look OEM. Impressive. Are you thinking now about applying it to your seats? The door panels... that's all vinyl, right? Have you tested it yet on any of the leather?
All of Subaru's "Touring Edition" models have that same Saddle Brown leather look. It's a nice combo against a black and silver trip interior.

Thanks. While they say it can be used on the seats I wouldnt. Just too risky and a headache if it didnt last. Just wanted a little contrast inside. I am trying to source brown recaro seats to go with the bride rails.
