A few things. Working on installing my FI Catback (damn Ohio salt has rusted the bolts where Y pipe meets the Cats), Z1 Intakes (just arrived today) , and then work on my JDM Winkers/Power Folding in an USDM enclosure project.
Due to temps, not too much planned right now (depending how long lockdown will go to, MN is currently until May 1). If April 1st is warm enough, I usually try to swap the wheels/tires to the summer set. Oil change will probably be at the same time.
Plan on doing the ATF dump/refill this late spring/summer as well as install F.I. RHFC as soon as possible. Will just be those cats with stock exhaust until someone wants to give me a good deal on ARK catback for my X sedan
I'm still processing through my Spring detail, one section at a time: 1) Wash 2) Claybar 3) Sealant 4) Wax. It certainly takes longer doing it this way instead of whole-car. But it's more thorough, and it's something to do while self-quarantining.
Still have the driver side, roof and front bumper to work on. After that, I'll put the back end up on ramps and clean the mufflers & tips. There's also the interior... glass, plastics, carpeting, etc.
Figure in a week or two I'll probably put the Vossens back on the car.
Rochester, what's the consensus on ramps once you're in the 275/35 realm?
IDK what the consensus is, but I understand your question. That's the size of my rear tires, and getting the rear up on standard ramps was more than a little awkward. For that matter, using standard ramps is nearly a non-starter when you're lowered. I had to "step" into those old ramps by first running up on a board stretched across the length of the car.
So a few years ago I pried open the wallet and purchased a pair of Race Ramps. They're wider, longer and higher than standard ramps. Expensive, to be sure, but they are exactly what you need.
I've personally never been a fan of ramps. There is just so much more that can go wrong when getting the car up on them. At least with a jack you are in more control of everything.
Im a big fan of my QuickJack. Lifts the car up really high and super easy to use. Of course, it's expensive... depends how often you need to get under your cars. https://www.quickjack.com/car-lifts/bl-3500slx/
I’ve had my sport bumper swap and headlights planned out since the beginning of winter. Put those on hold till this thing blows over to save on cash. Thinking of small things I could do, might get into wrapping my interior trim. If the weather in MA holds out I’ll def hop on the spring detail.
Got a few things done today. First up, added the drivers key hole delete (or escutcheon)
Then I started my 2010 to 2008 Rear Bumper swap. Taking off the old bumper was easy, however putting in the new one proved to be a little difficult. After trying to brute force fitment a few ways (an invariably causing some small chips in the paint DOH); I realized the white foam reinforcement was different between bumpers (another derp moment). Bumper fit real easy after that....
Test fit of the Blacktop Aero Spats and AutoKitsX CF Diffuser...
