2012 Journey

I've got a 2012 Journey that I've been very happy with. I didn't by mess with the car much because I have a long commute so I need to be able to rely on this.

The only mod I've done is I swapped in s VLSD from a 2011 Sport about 25000 miles ago. It was a pain in the butt because I had to replace the rear bushing on the diff but was worth it.

I don't go to the track but sometimes I flog it when I merge. I have an old MG with a turbo Nissan engine in it for more fun driving.

Okay with all that out if the way, here are my questions:

1 What IS the consensus on oil changes? I use full synthetic and most of my driving is on the highway. 3750 like the manual says seems too often, though. 5,000 okay?

2 The stock tire size for the Journey isn't as sticky as I'd like in the rear. Is there a common wider size people use?

3 This is more annoying than anything else, but my brake light and traction control lights will come on and stay on when I'm not doing anything weird. Like just driving in a neighborhood at 20 mph. Is this an easy fix with a new sensor? I don't like it but I can live with it.

Thanks

1) Change your oil every 500 miles to be extra safe.
2) Sigh

3750 OCI is the factory rec for dino. 5000 to 7000 mile OCI is fine for synthetic on a DD with highway commutes. No worries.

I suggest sticking with OEM tire size. If you want wide tires, get wider wheels.

Thanks. That was what I was wondering about.

Not going for different rims so I'll stick with what I have

Is the traction control light thing a common issue?

Thanks

You can check the traction light by looking if your brake fluid reservoir is at the correct level and check if your brake pads are worn, those are two common symptoms of that light. If not you can scan the code it could be a abs sensor like I experienced.

Sorry we go late reply. I've been traveling. Anyway, thanks for that. When I get home I will definitely look into that when I get home.
