Yea, 14k for a SC install is nuts. I was quoted 7k for a single turbo upgrade with all the fixings (GTR injectors, wastegate, BOV, etc.) including the labor fees. Installer stated the build would be good for 500whp. Anymore then I'd have to start looking to upgrade.

If I had the 6MT I would've done it without flinching but the 7AT would've required a build. That would've jacked the price up into the 10k+ range which made my decision easier. So far, I'm into my car for maybe $1,000 with my power mods excluding a tune. Figure I'll be around the 1,500-1,700 mark when all is said and done. Perfectly fine for keeping the G my DD and reliable. If it was a weekend car, or wasn't seeing a 100 mile round trip commute everyday, 500 whp would be a riot vs. BOs. Again, seems to come down to what your intended use for the car is.

I find it ironic that you tell me to go to the dyno section to read up, but the very next sentence you go on to say dyno numbers don't mean $h!t.

comparing #s to another car dynod on a completely different dyno is pointless.

but if your comparing #s on THE SAME dyno than that is a more comparable comparison.

I didn't include headers in the price break down because headers run $800-$1,000 and most people are not able to install it themselves like a bolt on exhaust or intake. Labor is about 7 hours for the headers.

with that being said, I'm waiting to hear your response regarding the admin tuning videos I posted. He does a baseline dyno and posts dyno graphs just about every day on his instagram of cars he's tuning. I will be getting tuned by him soon.

I had my car baselined and put down 285whp with only HFC + catback exhaust. With his intake and tune I'm expecting to be 310whp. Will find out next month.

So you wouldn't take a job that's 6 figures a year just so you can modify your G? Nice zomg thread.

Removed back seats 370z with e85, intake exhaust admin tune

It trapped 112mph. Is this the number you wanted to see chuckie?

I know this thread is about g37s and not 370zs but it's the same drivetrain and you can clearly see admin tuning holds the record in texas for fastest all motor n/a 370z 12.5 and g37x sedan 12.6

A lot of really good advice on here. I'm glad I have this thread here to look back on when I do start modding.

So I read the thread on gearing and I can't believe you have to give up your cruise control if you want to change gearing. Has nobody found a fix for that? That is going to make this mod really hard for me to do since I use cruise control a lot. I also say 1 post where someone said there was a difference between the smart cruise control and the basic one. Is this true?

Every G came with Cruise Control, however Adaptive Cruise control was a component of the Technology Package, and not available on the 6MT.

Swapped my gears, never lost CC. Maybe it's a 7AT thing.

No I wouldn’t. You couldn’t pay me enough to move back the Bay Area. I live in a place where the cost of living is way less, the quality of life is way higher, and I still make 6 figures..... and so does my wife.

Back to your regularly scheduled topic.

I love the the idea of forced induction, and was kicking around the idea of a stillen kit. I am intrigued with a simple twin turbo set now, something akin to the 3.0t motors have. 7-9psi and quick spool would be good.... especially with my local gas station having 110 non ethanol and E85 pumps available.

Who makes a nice mild TT kit?

For the sedan? No one. You can get them to work but I don't think any are pure plug and play.

I have a 7at with 3.692 final drive swap. 2011 with intelligent cruise control. My cruise control only works up to 67mph. Any higher it will beep and disengage.

I spoke to moncef from admin tuning and he said a ecutek tune can fix it

Oh good.. Seeing as I still live in California (thinking of moving to Ohio with the rest of my family in a couple months) Swapping out gears seems to be the most effective mod for me. When I left San Diego and moved to Sacramento last year, I also moved away from my smog guy. I was wondering if tunes had access to the cruise control. Can anyone else confirm if this is true? I would be pretty stuck having to decide between performance and CC.

He said he had the problem with the intelligent cruise control which is a rare option and only on the 2010 on up cars. Mine is 2011 and does not have it. Perhaps if you did have it you might want to get your speed re calibrated since the gears would effect mph. Just call a performance shop that works with Gs and Zs. I never use CC, too much traffic.

Nope. Using gears with a different final drive ratio has no effect on the speedo.

I was worried about that, but turns out there's no relationship.

Speed does not need to be recalibrated with a gear swap. I have 3.692 in my 7at and my speedo matches with my gps speed on my radar detector as well as those digital speed limit signs police use.
