Best launch technique

I have a 2013 journey AUTO sedan with Bolt-ons and an awesome Uprev tune. 323whp,261tq. I just got the Torque app and tried to do some 0-60 and 1/4 runs.. I have brand New tires also. I turned traction control off and in DS MODE. revved to 3000rpms and let of the brake. Doin my tires for so long it was ridiculous.. Fun but not good for trying to get good times. The best I got was 5.14(0-60) and 13.74(1/4@108mph). .. That was spinning tires till at least 40mph..
just another note: I chirp my tires at -30mph shifting into 2nd with the TCS ON!!
I am pretty sure I can break 5 seconds and come close to 13 sec quarter if I can grip. Unfortunately, I don't know my 60ft time but on my 13.7 run I did 8.8 1/8th mile time

Sounds like you're not getting grip with those tires, what are they? And since you've been modding the car, you know what it is and that the Journey doesn't have a limited slip rear diff. Might be best to just walk your car out of the hole.

FWIW, 5 seconds and 13's is pretty respectable in any car.

Sumitomo

235/55/17 Sumitomo htr as pO2 . They really have been sticky until I put the intakes exhaust and tuned trying to launch. My plan is to get possibly 29s with staggered tires once I have the cash for suspension upgrades (lowering.. Maybe coilovers) I have sway bars.
thanks for the info..I didn't realize my car didn't have the limited slip

Yikes! Sorry to be the bearer of that news. Unless you've got the sport package, but figured it was something you'd say if it were a thing. Here, this is useful:

Thanks, it's ok. I'm already looking into getting one from a Sport model automatic. It appears that it will fit fine. I'm just wondering if I do that, do I need to get A Retune due to the gear ratio change?

There is no gear change. The RWD automatic has the 3.3 rear gears when paired to the 7 spd transmission, regardless with or wothout limited slip. With the old 5 spd auto it was the same 3.692 rear gears they used for the 6MT.

Oh ok, thanks for that info. I was mistaken in thinking it was going up to 3.69
