Airbag light blinking, code 1 8
Airbag light blinking, code 1 8
Hi, all. On my 2012 G37X, I have a persistent blink pattern for the airbag light -- 1 long, 8 short. Please note that I know how to reset this. Ih this case it has not worked; the code returns. I'd like to know what the code means. For that matter, I'm wondering why we can't just get a list of codes for this thing. I've looked everywhere; no dice.
The only recent change I made was to replace the clock. However, it's been weeks since I did that. I did have the airbag light blinking about a week ago, but I reset it and it went away.
Yet here we are.

If your air bag light is blinking you have no air bag protection.
Have you checked the FSM?

Thank you for the link; I hadn't found the FSM.
Okay, the code corresponds to "front passenger air bag module."
So the procedure in general is to check the harness connector and then the harness. Then it steps up to replacing the air bag diagnosis sensor unit and finally the passenger air bag module.
First question is whether it's possible that replacing the clock triggered this. That panel includes a connector for the passenger air bag indicator light. That light, the amber one, seems to be working correctly.
If not, well, it's not likely that I'm going to personally mess with the airbag system.
