My stage 2 tune and pulley comes tomorrow
Excited to feel how fast it'll be lol.
Not excited to pull the entire front of the car off to get to the pulley though....
If you like the performance of the RS5 take a serious look at APR's E85 tune for the S5. Significantly more power than the RS5 and you can get suede inserts in your seats so you don't sweat all summer and freeze all winter.
The CT4-V Blackwing is in a completely different performance category than both cars and available with a stick shift. It is an amazing piece of engineering and almost 10 seconds a lap faster than the RS5 at Lightning Lap- Car and Driver's annual hot laps at VIR. (Cadillac actually got the CT4-V Blackwing to over 10 seconds a lap faster than the RS5 with their own driver.)
(Sigh) these are good decisions to have. In the end, it will come down to seat time, how the car projects confidence and stability, and how wide the S.E. grin is on my face when I bring it back to the garage. My days of competitive driving are long behind me but I do like a spirited romp on some of the back roads. Thanks for the counterpoint

I'm curious to see your choice. Like you said, good decisions to have.
Stage 2'ed the S5 today. Pulley swap, TCU and ECU tune. Thing flies now, it has the winter tires on it right now though, so I tried the new "Advanced launch" feature of the tune and the thing sat there doing an AWD burnout, totally nuts.

Awesome! You are going to have some fun "dashing through the snow" this holiday season.
Hey iCrap... some years ago there was a forum member named Ape Factory. Remember that guy? He had an IPL that he perfectly modded for the street, then moved on to an RS5.
That was a good read, and agree with pretty much everything he says on the (R)S5 vs G in terms of interior, driving position, NVH etc.
I actually came across his website and youtube channel while doing Audi research. https://redmistracing.com/ He sells a lot of parts now it seems.
After reading through his thread I see a few parts I want to pick up for mine now lol.
Well, my official replacement is a 2013 Dodge Charger Pursuit with a 5.7 Hemi. As mentioned, I needed a car that could hold 3 car seats, and the charger is on the short list of sedans that can do so legally.
I'll be staying one the forum for a little bit, as I plan to have another G37 Coupe in the not-too-distant future. Although by the time I can afford 2 cars, I might opt out for a mustang or an Audi S5/RS5. We will see how addicted I get to V8's lol
In the meantime, if any of you know someone looking for a G37x Sedan in very good condition for about $10k, mine is for sale. I truly wish I could afford 2 cars so I could keep it, but we just can't right now.
On the flipside, my G will be sticking around for a while longer lol. I'll still be putting it back to stock but I'm giving it to my mom to drive while we try to find a nice Hybrid SUV (kind of impossible right now)

They are set on hybrid for the MPG / fuel savings. Not really my choice but it does make sense especially since the car will be used for road trips and probably kept a long time. They don't want to go full EV yet either. Oh, and SUV because it's easier for them to get in and out of.
I saw that, I hope they have them at the upcoming DC auto show so we can take a look. The question is... will they be basically impossible to get and marked up 10k? I'm gonna say probably....
If this is a real image though, that's a pretty nice looking car
