I know I'd love the car, but again with a completely new front bumper, which on that car with so many electronics will run $3-5k installed. And the car will probably start at 70k now.
Being a manual enthusiast I am able to look past the obnoxious grille and some of the over the top styling to get myself into one. I remember reading old IS-F reviews and most journalists complained about how the styling is a bit gaudy. Looks like the M division is going down that road now.
Oh well. It's manual, it's a sedan, and most like really fun to drive. Toss in a good warranty and I'd be interested in buying a 3 year old one.
I don't like the new grille, but I do like how it's integrated into the lines of the hood. The whole thing makes me thing of the Colonial Viper in Battlestar Galactica.
So... whatever. I'll never own one. Too much money new, too much headache used.
What I don't like is this stupid origami design all over BMW. I'm really done with that crap.

I feel the same way about the $ and the reliability but life is too short to drive boring cars. Also over the origami design....BMWs used to be very slick and grown up looking with unsuspecting performance.
M4 doesn't look like it has a presence on the road. Most new BMWs are that way. Compare it to the E46, the E46 was that small tough dude who could knock your pants off if you don't move over. The new M4s look like they are the car equivalent of a hipster with a manbun and weird beard. Bigger cupholders for that craft beer. I don't get that hooligan/serious vibe from the new ones when I'm on the road with them. I doubt the new M4 will handle anywhere near as good as the E46. And I don't get why they renamed the 3 series M to an M4.
Road & Track posted 154 pictures of the new M3 & M4. I looked at all of them and I could not find a single one where I liked the front end. Yes, she is a "butter face." As in, "I like everything about her, but her face." I see tons of potential in the engine and it is great that the adaptive suspension is standard. Maybe the aftermarket comes up with a better looking front bumper or BMW gets the message and restyles it? (unlikely) I was so pumped about this car, but it is so difficult for me to get over that front end. Maybe it will grow on me or be better in person. I certainly hope so.
Do not look directly at the front end. Permanent eye damage may occur.
Oddly it looks great from this angle. Did they hire a different designer for the front end?
Wow! The rear fender flares of the M3 look even more aggressive than the current model. I'm curious to see this in person.
Maybe the front end starts to have some semblance of normalcy very close up at this angle? Nope, still awful.
These seats look pretty aggressive, but really wide. Who picked these colors? Play-doh?
