Speaking of Supras, it sounds like a manual transmission will be available as well as the new M3 engine with 500 hp as a GRMN model. This news is coming just on the heels of the new Nissan Z announcement with rumors of a manual transmission and a 500 hp Nismo version. Hmmm, I wonder where Toyota got that idea. Does this mean the supercar killing import sports cars from the 90's are finally making a return? Time to wake up Mazda & Mitsubishi.

The power numbers of the new TLX Type-S are out and they are very similar to the Genesis G70 which looks to have much better styling coming its way. The G70 is a surprisingly good handling car with the AWD and I am sure the TLX will be as well. The TLX seems to have the edge in terms of styling, but this should be a close match up and both cars should be hot contenders for your hard earned cash if you are looking for a replacement, especially if you have an AWD G.

I'll be keeping my eye on that one. I really like it, and i'd rather buy that over the G70. Curious to see what the tuners will do with it as well. The only thing I worry about is the AWD system, on previous Acuras I have driven the SH-AWD is kind of a joke - It's mainly FWD.

Interior is dumb. Exterior is great.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't that similar to the RDX interior?

I often wonder with these electric parking brake systems, what happens if the battery dies and brake is set....?

That's a good question. I bet you need to jump start it if you need a tow. (Then again, not many people use the electronic parking brake on an A/T car) I just checked the owner's manual of a new Altima with the electronic parking brake and it did not mention that scenario.

As a previous MT owner it's become a force of habit in any car I drive, even on flat surfaces. Not to mention, our driveway has an incline, so parking brake is always set before setting the prndl to P. I suppose not necessarily a jump, but enough juice to allow the disengagement of the brake.

On that same note here are some pics digitally enhanced without the camo on the M3. Same problem as the Supra. I think it looks properly aggressive from just about every angle, but the front end is awful. Hopefully, some company comes out with a better front bumper here too.

the new supra bumper looks sickk its a modern version of the 1993 supra

That supra bumper with the yellow car is purty. Yes, MK4 evolved is a good look.

I can't wait to be able to justify a two-seater again.

I would think some companies would maybe try to reserve a little juice so you could disengage the brake in that situation, but maybe not.

A leaked photo of the next gen WRX appeared online the other day. I guess the large digital display in front of the steering wheel is kind of cool, like Audi. I hope that like Audi, it also has a good version with an analog looking speedometer. The rest of the interior looks pretty disjointed with a sea of cheap plastics. Especially the big touchscreen in the middle of the center console. The new trend is to brag about how big your screen is, but at least it does not stick too far above the dash to block the view out of the windshield.

Hopefully, the STI will look a bit nicer and have a 6 speed. They are still rumoring an engine in the STI with 400 hp so it could still be a contender. It sounds like the next gen WRX should be out next year and hopefully, the STI as well a bit later.

Interesting. My first impression, is the same--a disjointed sea of cheap plastic. At least the screen has ***** for presumably at least volume. I don't like the vertical orientation. Seats don't look very heavily bolstered, but it's an auto, and probably a CVT, so there is likely an upgraded seat available. Electronic parking brake. Hopefully, the interior is offset by a killer suspension setup and a ton of horsepower. But I doubt it. It's Subaru, CAFE, Covid, low volume......they aren't going to invest a ton of R&D into this car since the fanboys will buy it no matter what. Maybe I'm wrong

Thoughts on 2016-17 BMW 340xi?

I test drove a 2016 340xi w/o Msport package and i really liked this car. It has the B58 motor and even though the motor has only been out since 2016 I haven't heard of any major issues. So much torque down low compared to the VQ and the ZF 8 speed transmission shifts so much quicker and than the 7at,

They're dyno'ing 330 to the wheels for the base 340i and with the Msport package are dyno'ing 360 to the wheels.

Since I don't like to mess with engine tunes I wouldn't mind picking up a 2016 from Carmax and buying their maxcare warranty which would keep the car covered for the next 5 years. Seems like a nice upgrade from my G37xS.

I've been watching videos lately about the Genesis G70 with the V6TT. Smooth power and more of it, speed, luxury, comfort. Sure, it's nothing like the kind of driver's car my G has become, but year over year that seems more the point. Instead of taking current automotive values to the next level (which 4DRZ is on path to do), it's becoming increasingly more likely next car will be about ease and comfort. The Genesis brand looks like it fits that goal.

Even here on the G forum, there have been a few members saying goodbye and moving into the Genesis, which is interesting.

Anyway... G70 sure looks fine from a keyboard review. There aren't any actual Genesis dealerships here, though. Just Hyundai/Kia dealerships with Genesis shoehorned into their lineup.

I've been eyeing Mallorca Blue G70's for a while but I'm too afraid to test drive one because I know I'll like it a lot...so much that I'll try and justify getting rid of my car. Which I'd prefer not to do currently. Car is just stretching it's legs at 105k miles.
