What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?
I just saw this: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...7961/overview/
I'm sure it would be an absolute nightmare to own but a cheap manual AWD V8 does sound fun lol. Cheap enough to be a beater too.

My only experience with the Veloster was sitting in it at the Autoshows over the last few years, each time thinking the cabin was strangely rewarding, and Tardis-like. It was kind of cool, and certainly unique.
But seriously... Veloster, Civic and the Toyota family 4-door that shall not be named.
This thread is taking a weird turn.

My G is valued at $12500 on CarGurus and I can't even stomach the idea of owning a $23,000 2019 Civic SI in exchange for my G37. Sounds like absolute madness. Same goes for C@mry, Veloster, Maxima, GTI, Golf R, WRX, EVO.
Well it was mainly me bringing up a couple of those or discussing them further but: I'm only talking about replacing ONE of my G's
. As others said that would seem more acceptable heh.

^ i had three friends with 4.2 S4's. you align with their experiences regarding the 4.2 being reliable. they never had any major issues with the engine. the problem was everything else from clutch, to diff's, to brakes, and on. any routine maintenance saw the bill total $800+. that's not talking about major services, just oil/filters/inspections/routine fluid. anytime real mechanical work was needed saw bills well over $3k. of course they could have saved money and gone to an independent shop, but that's not what they chose to do.

What did you like about the R-Spec? We have a couple at our store, but I was completely underwhelmed by the lack of power. It might have been that my car has almost twice as much hp, but probably more that we also carry VW GTIs and they definitely have more grunt and better interiors. The new Veloster is nice though and I think it looks great in red- much sportier exterior styling than the GTI. How did the R-spec compare to the Veloster N? We have not ordered any yet as Hyundai will not give us one with the performance package yet.

The US needs more wagon options. I think BMW is going to stop selling there 3 series wagon now also. If BMW sold a 335i Wagon, I'd be all over that as a replacement for the G.
Damn millennials and their damn crossovers. Shakes fist.

. I call it the Corvette Z06 rule.
According to car and driver, it’s about a half second slower than the GTI. Looks like the N closes the gap.
I admit to not keeping up on Hyundai’s, and the design is interesting, and it’s cheap, but I couldn’t live with the 3 door configuration. I suspect the initial price difference might be offset by a higher resale value on the VW, but I’m just guessing—the STi is the residual champ.
