did a few timed 0-60 times and not liking what is got
^^^ this...as i get older/mature etc or whatever ...i realize power and speed are great but they have their place, and normally not on the streets. i mean having the extra hp is great for passing, merging and a few other scenarios when alone etc, but for the most part, 0-60 just gonna get you in trouble, in more ways than one. enjoy the car
When snow covers the road I get 10.3s, but I am not going to mention that I was trying 0-60 on a snowy road, because then there is no drama. Are you somehow suffering from attention deficit and need approval or something?
I don't care what the numbers say, this is not a fast car. Feels a lot slower than what you would expect from the 0-60 the magazines got. From reading the forum, it seems the low end torque is the reason for such a slow feeling.
My mom used to have a 335i convertible and that thing felt like a rocket compared to this.

I think that was kinda the point with VVEL...it was meant for smooth power delivery; not a neck snapper. Probably why you felt like the 335 was that much quicker. When that turbo kicks in it's a different animal. I feel like NA engines are like that for the most part - smoother power delivery that is.
Infiniti has to appeal to the masses. So a neck snapping turbo VQ probably wasn't their bread and butter when they released the G (I'm aware they have one now). It doesn't exactly have the fanboy club BMW does where quality products from the past are what people remember. BMW makes a great performing vehicle but it's kind of hilarious to see people say "Just get a BMW and get rid of it before the warranty expires." I mean, really? If that's the pinnacle of German engineering...

Insofar as how fast a car "feels", the 6MT is a far more engaging experience. And the VQ37HR may run rough compared to other engines, but its power curve is relatively flat, meaning it can be deceptively fast.
My previous car was a 5.5 Gen Maxima 6MT. The VQ35DE in that car was much less the powerplant than what's in my G, and yet... in the overlapping period between the two cars, it *felt* like that old FWD Maxima was faster. (It was certainly less heavy

LOL at the guy claiming 4.8 - 4.9 unless he is FI.
an X is always going to be slower than a true S model. it's heavier and without a good transmission (DCT) the 6MT will be the better option. and as someone else said, aftermarket wheels, gas in the tank, tire pressure, elevation, temperature outside, windspeed/direction can all effect the claimed 5.1 of the 6MT vehicle tested versus what you were doing.

Reaction time may cause a variety of results but here is my video. Speedo starts very shortly after video starts and ends shortly after crossing 60.

This was done on a "straight" away a short distance from my home. Reaction time will cause varying results. I'll get 4.9-5.3 because my reaction will vary but the point I was trying to get across was that the car is quicker than the times OP was posting. I'm aware outside elements and elevation could have an effect on time - mentioned this in my 1st post. Shot this video for fun but I'll bring my level, barometer and gauges to do a full calibration next time...
2/3 Edit: Also since I'm feeling argumentative if someone wants to dispute my claim

If you scroll down to the G37 times it seems my time wasn't that far-fetched.
