OK

is there a gap between the spoiler and the trunk?

I installed mine (drilled+tape) and I see the white sticky tapes on the both side edge.

My understanding was that there is a gap bc the white tapes need to be settled in or something.. but I'm not sure and I feel like the gap is getting bigger and bigger.

I will post the picture later...
Spoiler should be snug all the way across on both mounting surfaces, you want just a bit of gap to pull the backing off the tape but press it down and hold it for a bit so the tape gets a hold. Shouldn't be any visible underside edges anywhere. You may have to get some more double sided tape and do it again

Hmm actually the dealership installed the spoiler for me.

They took little more than 3 hours to install.. For 199..

Should I bring it back there and ask them to re-do it?

I realize the space btw the spoiler and trunk is not even all the way across. Also my back up camera is not 100% straight.

*i installed them in the dealership bc if something goes wrong, they replaced the whole thing for me (like my splash guards)

If you aren't satisfied, and it sounds like you're not, I would 100% return to the dealer & demand perfection. Any gaps, uneven areas etc, isn't acceptable. You paid that $199 to get a professional install, so you deserve that.

OK.

I just got off the phone with the dealership.

The service representative told me that there is nothing they can do about the gaps; he saw many spoilers installed and those gaps are normal because of the double sided tape.

He thinks there is nothing he can do but they will take a look and see what they can do for me.

Should I bring your installation steps to them to drill extra holes for me?

WTF!? sorry man not trying to be rude here but if you have to bring the dealership the installation instructions, then thats a huge red flag. The spoiler is and was a very simple install, longest part for me was getting the crappy chrome one off without breaking the tabs.

I would definitely take the car back and have them address the gaps. Tell them you want them to take it off and reinstall with new tape. At the price you paid I wouldn't stop until I was 100% satisfied. Be sure to tell them to make sure and press and hold down on the new tape...even though you shouldnt have to advise them, at this point I would. GOODLUCK

I did mine without any instructions, no templates, had to buy my own hardware and it still sits super flush all around after several years, and I didn't drill the outside holes.
Take it back, demand perfection. There should be lots of pics of good installs on that thread I posted a ways back.

Wow, skipped over those pics the first time around today. That sucks! No way would that be considered professional in any shop.
I'd have them remove it, refund your install fee, and give it back to you (unharmed). Then take it to a completely different shop, or maybe someone on the site can lend a hand.
I wouldn't trust those bozos w/ that job again.
Here's some pretty close pics of mine for reference (ignore the taillight overlays, they're painted now, lol)
