Black Out Rear Badges! Plasti? Flexi?
Wassup guys
Was searching all over and couldn't find a DIY on blacking out the badges.
Anybody has experience and can help a brotha out?
Really don't wanna pay someone to do this!
And what's the difference between plastidip and flexidip?

Neither get very glossy even with glossifier.
If you want a satin finish that's fine. I used plasti-dip on my grill w/o glossifier and I'm very satisfied.
I personally prefer a gloss finish on the emblems, so when I did my engine cover emblem, I used duplicolor black chrome and clear coat.
I def prefer that to dip on the badges, but it is not nearly as easy to remove.

If you're not going to debadge, I actually like the look of satin black emblems and badging. Yes, me the guy who things most of the G's with plastidipped parts look like cheap ricey garbage.
Someone recently joined the forum and has blacked out badges. I can't remember who the member is but I'm sure Kenny knows. Check the posts he's thanked. Oh wait, he's thanked every single post in the forum he's ever read. No help there. B

Oneighty did a guide on plasti dipping your emblems, its a pretty simple process:

I've had my emblems dipped for a few years, but I think I will take it off and paint it soon, just to get a glossier finish.

I agree with the sphincter retentives
Here's my cheap ricy garbage plasti-dipped grill:
Here's my cheap ricy garbage plasti-dipped wheels:
And here's my cheap, ricy garbage plasti-dipped middle finger:
Kidding.
Professional paint will always look better than rattle can. But the magnitude of that difference depends on the level of effort one puts into it, and the surface area the part presents.
