Built in cat back-bumper options

Anyone have any ideas on how you can make the two rear muffler tips look more built into the rear bumper? Stock looks almost like the exhaust was not made for the car.

Yes. Buy a Ford Fusion. But make sure it's the base model, and not the new 2017 Sport... because that particular Fusion has proper tips. Quad tips, in fact.

I realize there's been a trend over the last few years for what you're describing. And without fail, all those implementations, right down to some of the newest Mercedes, have crude, rust-prone exhaust tips just and inch or two into the shadows. It's cheap-looking, IMO.

To accomplish your goal, you'll need a custom bumper and some custom exhaust work. Considering the height of the tips, in order to enclose them all around, you'd be lowering the lines of the bumper considerably. Can't imagine how that would look right. Then again, I'm not familiar enough with aftermarket body kits to know for sure. Good luck finding what you want here... I suspect it's a huge project.

Fusion na...Maybe a Lexus GS350 with built in rear exhaust...

Let me be a little more specific- not looking for something that doesn't show the tips. Looking for for a cut out. The stock rear tips do not look STOCK. Looks like Mineke added a dual exhaust under that fat rear bumper...get what I'm saying?

The OEM oval tips are pretty cheap-looking... no doubt. In fact, the very first mod I did to the car was have my mechanic cut them off, then weld on new tips. It looked great from an angle, however the single-wall design made the tips all but disappear from a straight-on POV. It was good enough for a few years, until upgrading the catback.

Perhaps a similar solution is what you're looking for? Here's an old pic:

To each their own but I feel stock looks good and in fact I am going to attempt to replicate stock appearance when doing my exhaust build. I have been eyeballing 3.5" tips as they look really good vs the 4.5" rounds all the aftermarkets have. Stock is 3.5"x4.5" oval.
