We will see where this goes. I'm not going to make any moves anytime soon, but just trying to think ahead which direction I'd like to go within the next year or two. Put more money into the G or "upgrade" to the M3. I do see it as an upgrade, both cars serve a similar function but I believe I'd enjoy the M3 more. But parts are more expensive and it's not as reliable.

There are so many considerations. The G is rock solid and I enjoy it very much. I've always owned MT cars and if I got the M3, I would most likely get the DCT, so that would leave me without an MT vehicle. Would I be okay with that? Hard to tell. There's also the element of regret I may feel about selling the G because it's a unicorn, I'm sure many of you can attest to that. I'd hate to see it go into someone else's hands.

The G is paid off this year and my wife's Cruze will be next year, so that gives us wiggle room in 2024. I don't really want another car payment, so I may just start saving up for an M3 at that point. Or if the economy and markets rebound later this year and into 2024, I may have some potentially lucrative investments that could be the deciding factor.

You're married to your wife, not your car! lol I really like the G platform as well and will be sad to see it go when I sell it, but I really want a BMW as well. I think you will be fine with the paddle shifters and you will most likely be surprised by the instant crisp shifts it has. I will most likely end up with a 135i or 335i or maybe one with a v8, who knows. I mainly want something a little easier to make power than with the VQ. I'd say if you have the cash to buy a BMW and still have some left over for a few necessary maintenance items. I'd go for it if you've already had your fun with the G.

I have noticed over the last couple of years how both cars ae becoming increasingly uncommon on the road. Whereas 10 years ago the G sedan was everywhere. But I suppose that's a Mr. Obvious moment.
Like you, I purchased new based on what I wanted in 2013. At the time, there were more choices for RWD, Sport sedans with many of the mechanical amenities normally associated with this offering. Nonetheless, the G37S represented an incredible balance at that time and I wasn't as uptight about the "lack of refinement" many of the trade mags complained about. Being somewhat "raw" was part of the cars charm for me, and also something as the platform ages makes it very desirable.

But like you said, 10 years ago Gs were everywhere and now I rarely see Gs, or even the Qs for the matter. The Q60 Couple is a beautiful car, so I'd catch one of them if they were driving anywhere near me - Of course blended in with all the White Teslas here in SoCal.

In the 6/7 years since the Q60 debuted I have only seen two: one blue and one white Red Sport. Both owned by college kids (whose parents obviously paid the note). I do know the blue one got wrapped around a utility pole racing a Mustang. This was pre-pandemic and I have not seen one since. Aside from the Red Monaco (B) interior, which makes me drool (TMI), the car just didn't "wow" me. And, what with all the issues the VR30's had/have, I just can't see me getting one. Now that it is dead, I imagine what few remain will swiftly vanish...

To be fair, I have only seen one (1) Q50... as every other sedan around here is either German or a Camry. I've seen a handful of the QX-SUV's, but not many. And, there are less than a dozen G37's that I know of and even fewer G35's or 350/70's... I imagine if Infiniti had a dealership locally (nearest is 2-2½ hours away) there would be more, but even then...

While we don't have a plethora of EV's here, practically every other driveway has a ridiculously overdone Mustang, Camaro, or Dodge whatever parked with 2 or 3 oversized soccer-mom SUV's.

Did you swap or put a cover on the old one? Looks great. I have people on here mention that the installation of that cover requires the patience of a saint.

Finally got my Swift springs and KYB shocks installed on my G37x 😁 haven't really gone too far other than from work and back home yet, but I can definitely feel the road more and it seems to handle much more responsive. Wheel and tire install is next on the list.

Spent a good bit on my car this weekend, Installed new Front Wheel Bearing (NSK), passenger side was noisy and the track day put the final nail in the coffin. Got my toe lockout plates in the rear installed, I can torque this bolt to 90ft/lb up from the OEM 65 ft/lb so it should not be moving anymore.

Edit: nut run on torque is 32ft/lb so by torque wrench set it to 122ft/lb.

Got the VQ35HR Intake installed.

FYI - My issue has turned out to be 2 tires that are out of round. One has 29lbs of road force and another 28.

Did roadforce balance solve the issue or did you get them warrentied?

Sorry I just saw this post, but if you're still having issues, these are the rings I purchased for my Superspeed wheels and I haven't had any vibrations with them since they've been on the car:

Maybe....Discount Tire was able to get them from 28/29 down to under 20 on all 4. I need to get it on the freeway to really confirm if they are good enough to live with. I have only been able to do a quick highway spin on them since this latest rebalance.

I do know I won't be buying General Tires again in the future. Back to premium brands like Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, for me no matter how highly rated a lower tier tire is.

I did confirm a couple weeks ago than the hub centric rings weren't my issue. Really just seems to be hard to balance General tires.

Back in 1983, I had a persistent vibration at particular speeds in a brand new Firebird. It took countless trips to the dealership before they finally decided to test the drive shaft, and discovered it was ever so slightly bent. And finally (!!), problem solved.

Not saying that's your problem, just saying that sometimes its something really unlikely, because stuff happens.
