I used pliers on the top right one. Just pull straight back toward you, and don't grasp it hard enough to crush, just enough to get a solid grip.

I needed pliers for a couple of mine but since the ***** are a rubber compound, they suffered no damage.

I used vice grips and absolutely DESTROYED the OEM *****...but not before checking the price of replacements...LOL

I had to use pliers to get the last one off. I put some dents in the button even though I wrapped it in cloth. Anyway, it's all set now.

It also had me thinking of other options. I bet the OEM buttons with a chrome ring around it would look nice too. Like this one:
