The phrases cat-back, y-back and axle-back are different ways to describe varying levels of replacement for aftermarket exhausts, and a cat-back would include optional mid-section resonators... irrespective of resonated aftermarket catalytic converters themselves. Or, for that matter, resonated tips.

Here is my custom catback with HFCs. Non-resonated FI HFCs mated to 2.25" tubing to a magnaflow resonated x pipe and tubing all the way back to magnaflow mufflers mated to NSX oem tips
now besides a meisterchaft exhaust (f***ing love those) this would be my next dream exhaust

If I remember correctly when I had my axleback made it was about $300 and then when they did everything from that piping back to the headers and installed the cats it was around $500 for piping, flex couplers, hangers, labor etc.
I felt it expensive overall compared to my other exhaust shop I used to use in my hometown when growing up but they did a good job atleast.

This has probably been discussed before but I would like my sedan exhaust to have more of a tone to it like the coupe or even the FX35s.I love that sound. How can I get close to that? Not looking to spend a boatload of money on a cat back or even an axle back. Just looking for that particular sound of the coupe.
