Drivers windshield wiper arm

Does anyone else's drivers windshield wiper arm rub the hood when you raise it to change the blade or clean the window (the passenger side is fine)? I noticed on the 2011 G37x I just purchased the arm rubs a little on the hood when I raise it. Not a big deal but I don't want to scratch the hood every time I clean my window. I am hoping this car wasn't in an accident despite the "car fax" not showing anything. Thoughts?

This. Should be held on by one nut, undo that, lift off the arm and move it one or two notches and then put it back on and reinstall the nut.

Have you replaced the wiper blade? The OEM design blade is mounted lower and closer to the windshield on the side of the wiper blade (low profile). Most j-hook wiper blade replacements mount on top, and kicks up the arm quite a bit.
