Take care of your health! If swapping parts on your wrecked car causes you even the tiniest bit of stress, it isn't worth it IMHO.

Get well!

Sorry to hear about all your difficulties. One thing I learned after my old G was totalled is pay attention to your adjuster's condition rating of your car. If your car was in excellent condition prior to the accident, then the condition of your car on the adjuster's report should say excellent. The difference in their payout on a good condition vs. excellent car is potentially thousands of dollars.

Glad to hear they totaled it out! Not having a clean vehicle history would have cost you thousands in resale and trade value. Stay healthy and take care of that heart!!

Tow yard shouldn't care if you take your parts off. I did that on my 99 Altima after I got t-boned

good to hear you're doing better....tough loss on the car, but machines can be replaced. I noticed that you had your winter tires on during your accident, did the tires lose traction on that turn??? Understeer?? Sad to see that happen to a nice looking ride, but again, glad you made it out alive!

I'm in Connecticut so I know the weather will be nasty and cold pretty soon... let me know if/when you start looking for stock parts....

So I'm finally done getting all the aftermarket parts off my car, but wondering for anyone with experience, should I hang onto my spare tire and OEM mats (none of which were in the car at the time of the accident or first insurance inspection) or do I just toss them in to increase, hopefully, the value of what I will get by the adjuster? Essentially are they worth more to me to hold onto or in the insurance claim? Someone should be out tomorrow or the day after to do the final inspection so just wondering if anyone had any last words of wisdom. I'm also recovering well from the other health issues so thank you all for your support through all of this!

I doubt the adjuster would even notice them, pretty small fish in that big ocean of repair. I'd leave them out.

Nice to hear your health is improving, would be great to start off 2016 on a much better note, best of luck

This ^^^ this is probably one of the coolest things to read and why I love being a member here, thank you man, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! But Im good, I gotta get moving a little, I cant lay around, not the type at all! Got everything off over the past 5 days or so, my brother-in-law and I did the exhaust on Sunday and I did all the other stuff here and there as weather permitted. Left the springs and interior lights... not worth the time...

Yeah this was kind of the direction I was leaning just trying to double check and see if anyone has first hand experience in the area or not, as always your advice is much appreciated and thank you I am definitely looking forward to this new year!!!

Just Crashed my G :( :( :( Quick question?

So sitting here on this new year reflecting on everything that's happened I may be looking at moving towards the Q... I love the G I really do, but given the last 4-5 weeks and the the culmination of it sitting in my driveway rusting as we speak I honestly feel weird thinking about just going out and hopping in the "same" car. I feel like I should change things up a bit, but I love the G platform, reliability, performance for $$$, technology, etc... I considered switching platforms all together but the reliability factor. The only things I like are the BMW 335i x drive 2013 and the Audi S4 2013 and neither will give me the mileage and reliability combo I can get in the price range a 2014 q50 awd sport will right? Anyone care to weigh in on this? I'm also trying to make it through 2 more years of school and can't go over what my loan payment was before since I factored that in to my survival plan. Only thing I'm reading about the Q's is the tech can be pretty crappy and unreliable and I realize the resale is going to get spanked once the TT 3.0 comes out, but we have to have 2 cars.... Ughhh thanks for reading and Happy New Years! Part out probably coming soon.
