About how long the batteries lasts I had to replace mine on the G37 with the couple years while on my G35 it took almost 8 years before I replace them. I guess all the electronics on the G37 they drain the battery faster than on the G35, I guess.
The battery in the G37 with intelligent key will drain much faster as it is constantly sending out a signal to the car. (Similar to holding down the button on the remote 24/7) The battery in the G35 was probably a regular remote which only used the battery when you hit the button.

I had the same problem even with a new battery. The low battery light wouldn't go away so I decided to try something random and it worked! The light went away and hasn't come back.

I got in the car and pressed the start button twice (without my foot on the brake pedal) to get to the mode where all the lights show up on the instrument cluster including the low battery light. While in that mode and while in the car, I took apart the key fob and took out the battery and re-installed the same battery. The low battery light went away and hasn't come back. This seemed to have a resetting type effect. It worked for me, hope this works for others.
