The fob I gave to my girl has had a dead battery for 6 months and I just never replaced it. If she drives it she has to use the key to get in and insert the fob intot hat hole to the left of the steering wheel to drive. Since someone said which battery to use in this thread I might go get one tonight.

I changed my fob battery this past weekend and every third to fourth start the low battery warning will still come back. Is there a reset that I may have missed?

^^Maybe the battery you got sat on the shelf for a while. Many places sell these batteries, but not sure where you'd get the freshest. It's cr2032, right?

Point of interest (or maybe not): Dell uses this battery to keep server CMOS settings intact. Sears used this battery for the garage door remotes of my mother's house.

I replaced my fob battery last year, bought it at a grocery store. Easy to find, for sure.

Haha, normally I am OCD about these kinds of things, but the fact that I know its an easy fix tempers that. And I'm also lazy

I never received the "low battery" warning for the intelligent key, but once in a while it would not work and I would have to use the key and dock the remote in the port.

I replaced the battery today and measured the voltage of the old and new battery:
-4 year old remote battery: 3.0 volts
-New battery: 3.24 volts.

By the way, a good place to get cheap watch batteries is the dollar store. I picked up a 5 pack of CR2032s for $1.50.

How do you open the fob? I don't see any screws. Do you just pry it open?

Take the key out of it and you'll see a little notch where you can stick a small screwdriver in to separate the two halves.

Be as carefully as possible. I had to replace the battery on my G35 and i broke the little "hooks". On my G37 I almost attack it as a surgery very very carefully.
About how long the batteries lasts I had to replace mine on the G37 with the couple years while on my G35 it took almost 8 years before I replace them. I guess all the electronics on the G37 they drain the battery faster than on the G35, I guess.
