G37 Vs G37x

Hi,
I am looking to buy a 2012 G37. but the car proof report says its G37 sedan. but the logo at back of the car says its G37X. but the dealer guy says its an AWD. I tried to figure out the difference between the 37 and 37x. i googled it but could not find any detailed information on the specifications or difference between these trims.
Can someone please let me know the difference or any place where i can find it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

The X simply means AWD. Theres not much of a difference between a G37 and G37x. The G37x is RWD biased so its AWD from 0-12mph then only kicks in when it detects wheel slippage. But when you're looking at the G37S and G37xS, theres a huge difference. The G37S is available with 6MT while the xS isnt. G37S also has VLSD, sport tuned steering, big brakes, and weights less than the AWD version. Its all personal preference and in the end it all comes down to how much you want to spend. The G37xS is really only a sport appearance package.

X = all-wheel drive

Consumes a little more gas due to the all-wheel drive adding a bit more weight. Regular G37 might be better if you don't live somewhere that snows a lot.

Edmunds is a good place to research the high level differences between the two. As others have mentioned, the X/AWD is often more desirable in regions that experience increment weather. Here in Socal, they are virtually non-existent. The X adds a front differential, so some weight, additional ride height and a decrease in mileage (small) should be expected.
