Here she is, just a little dirty, and sitting on God awful 328 17s with RFTs:
Nothing is forever, and given your automotive values (and your buddy), it's no surprise that you moved into a 335i. It's a worthy driver's car, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Big power potential when modding but a step back in the looks and reliability department. Performance is near identical (when stock) but I of all people know what it's like to yearn for something new. Congrats man and seeing how you treated your G that beemer is in good hands. Happy motoring.
I like the dark red leather, too. But the seats look flat and fat. I also love the classy design of the dashboard, and the whole interior for that matter; it's so upscale and beautiful compared to the G. And I respect the driver's car nature of the 335i 6MT. It's smooth and powerful and well balanced.
Unfortunately, the car is a dime a dozen, and fills up office parks like khakis and empty briefcases. It just doesn't have the uniqueness and the sexy design lines of his G. Just another 3-series driven by throngs of business creature posers.
Should have bought the coupe. And say goodbye to LSD.
I was looking at those before I got my G. In fact I went in specifically for that auto. I was willing to accept that it would be at the dealer. A LOT. I had an X5 and I was used to the service light coming on ($$$). I think it had a connection to my checking account. Whenever my balance got up to a certain level, it was ready for another service of some sort.
I drove both and really liked the G. Never had considered it before. I always thought Japanese sedans had no soul compared to their Teutonic brethren. A test drive proved me wrong. The G has personality in spades.
Your interior is beautiful. Looks like a London men's club. You should have many miles of enjoyment.
How do you find the interior space compared to the G? I was also concerned that things were a little tight in the back for my nuclear family.
Sorry to see you moving on, but looks like you found a worthy replacement.
Hope you have many trouble free miles w/ your 335.
Cheers!
Brad
Thanks a lot, Brad. I'm really excited about this one.

Ran all of the cars service history since I work at a BMW dealer, and everything checked out! Except that the turbos haven't been replaced yet. Probably over the winter.

I had white on red in my mind while I was searching, and this popped up right in time, so I knew I had to jump on it. As for being a generic businessman's car, you're right about that. It's only a matter of time until I'm turning heads in the aforementioned office park though.
The interior is leagues ahead of the G, but the wood trim is on it's way out; brushed aluminum vinyl ordered. The G seats and this car's seats are very, VERY similar. They're both tight and keep me planted. Can't say one is better than the other.
I will never own a coupe as a daily. They're the very definition of inconvenient. Especially with more than one passenger. That's a hard pass.
It is a little ridiculous to me that BMW doesn't offer LSD in anything other than M cars, but hey, why would you want something lower in the line up to compete with your top dog?

I will agree that it doesn't look as good as my G did.......yet. The power potential for this platform is crazy. Like I said in the OP, $150 and I'm already up 80HP. For that kind of gain on this platform, you'll need a lot more than $150. That fact alone kind of persuaded me into the 335. Don't get me wrong, the G was a blast to drive, and I had plenty of fun keeping up with/dusting punks on the highway. And the noises the VQ makes. Oh, the noises. Thanks for the kind words about the G.

I work for HC, and I found it at an HC Audi, so I got a pretty sweet deal on it. Couldn't pass it up. With Dinan, you're paying for the name, a warranty, and not much else. I can link you guys to the 95+ page thread about why MHD is the way to go for this platform.
Thanks for the kind words about the G, bud. The 335 won't be too far behind it.

Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I love the color combo too. As for losing me...I'll be lurking, haha.

That rolling pic is selling me on that spoiler!
The 335s are great cars, but like most cars, they're a nightmare once they're out of warranty. As for the spoiler, I don't see too many cars with it, so I was psyched to stand out a little bit and have it.

Best of luck and happy motoring,

Yeah, like I said, the maintenance on these cars is pricey, but as the saying goes; gotta pay to play.
I think most of the cars in Nissan's line up are great. I have a huge soft spot for 02-03 Maximas, and now second generation sedans. Much like the seat comparison I made above, the cars are very similar in regard to interior space. Anyone who sits behind me is definitely going to be squished tho, as I'm 6'3, hahaha.

Congrats, it's a very nice looking car, and definitely has a lot of potential with what can be done to it. Basically I think you only need to upgrade the I/C and do a tune you can push close to 400hp with them.
Like several of the others stated... the 335i was at the top of my list when I first started looking for a car. I had an E36 Bimmer that was going to my step-daughter, and I was picking up something new(er) to keep the miles off the Porsche since it was starting to have "issues".
You're right though on the "gotta pay to play" aspect. In the end... I decided that I just couldn't keep up with the German car tax and started looking at the Japanese cars instead, and the G wound up being the best choice for me. Now I need to stop buying stuff for the G so I can fix the Porsche.
