How you liking the 335i? I'm thinking about joining the BMW crew by getting a 335i or 535i or getting a g37xs or rwd s

It's a blast, to be honest. The only hiccups are that I'm AWD/No LSD, where the G was RWD and had LSD. Oh well.

If you're not scared of doing independent research to source parts and DIYs, you'll be just fine buying a BMW that's out of warranty.

Nothing wrong with playing it safe and just getting a Japanese car either!

Well, had some work done on the car over the weekend.
Turbos replaced, all vacuum lines, spark plugs, oil filter housing gasket, and a nice carbon cleaning.
Also had that OEM style spoilerput on. Car feels brand new.

Very nice... You can not beat the smoothness of an inline 6!
Does the carbon cleaning really need to be done EVERY 60K?

No crust, except for the white 335 in these pictures.

^ yikes, sounds like a pricey bit of work. and i assume out of pocket. is all that work (aside from the spoiler) considered preventative maintenance at your mileage or was something fouled/broken? how many miles?

i ask because i do consider BMWs from time to time, but always get nervous about repair bills and excessive service requirements compared to the japanese offerings. .

The turbo replacement was covered under an extended warranty that was enacted a result of a class action lawsuit;

BMW 335i (N54) turbo warranty extended for wastegate issues to 8yrs/82k miles

Everything else was preventative.

Buying a BMW out of warranty is mostly about doing independent research for parts and DIYs. Just like with any brand, there's things you can't do without a lift or a shop. BUT working at the dealer does help.

I'm jumping the G ship as well in a couple months. Just ordered a BMW this past week and it'll take 2-3 months to arrive. For me, the ride/handling of the BMW is leagues ahead of Infiniti. Hope you're still enjoying the 335!

Loving the 335. What did you end up ordering?
