Newbie questions about S or LE and short driver fitment
Looking at a used G37 as a daily. The car will see a few track days a year for when the Miata is the shop or if I want to bring the family, so a RWD Sport seems to fit the bill. I can't seem to find specifics other than paint/interior on the Limited editions, do they have the same suspension and brake upgrades the sports have over the base? Are the LSDs identical between the Sports and Limited as well?
Also, on occasion the car will be driven by a 5'0" driver. Does the ergos adjust enough to allow for a safe driving position?
thanks, look forward to joining the club soon.

Good question, I think all LEs are either upgraded G37S or G37xS, so for the former, you get 7AT (with paddles), with LSD, sport brakes, suspension, steering, wheels (staggered), front bumper, side sills and seats. For the latter you just get sport wheels (non-staggered), front bumper, side sills and seats. Exception is no 6MT option for the LE.
But perhaps someone better informed can correct me.
Would not think a 5'-0" driver would be an issue, seat is highly adjustable.

thanks, looks like the important items ( lsd, suspension, brakes, steering ) will be included in the LE. I didn't realize the wheels are staggered, may have to go with a non-staggered set for track use. Unfortunately, I will have to get a 7AT as I'm won't be the only driver for the car.
No problem, but I believe what you said is true only for the RWD version, AWD version may not have those features. Nissan/Infiniti chose to make the sport package for the AWD (called G37xS) mainly an appearance package, so it lacks the sport tuned performance parts. Hope someone else more knowledgeable can chime in, and good luck to you sir

Since you seem to be a track enthusiast I'll assume you want the manual. If my assumption is right then you only have one option with the G37 and that's the S equipped one. Happy hunting and we look forward to having another track enthusiast on the forum.
Definitely prefer the manual to the auto. Unfortunately, the car will also serve as a part time kid hauler by the wife and grandma, and neither of which is willing to learn stick. I'm thankful to have the Miata as a dedicated track car as is, and won't be pushing my luck with the G. In any case, the 7AT with the Sport model should suffice the few time I want something different at the track.
