Thanks. That's what my buddies at work tell me, about not replacing the whole sheet metal there and just fixing the dents and chipped paint in the wrecked area.

I bet that was a sight. Sucks the cops never did anything about it. That's one of the reasons i was just content on staying at the wreck site and not pursuing the driver that hit me and just get the cops there ASAP to do a report.

That's what i'm hoping. I've got a 9:45 appointment to access the damage and get a check to take it to what ever repair shop i feel will do the best work. I think i'm just going to take it to a local Infiniti dealer and let them do the repairs. I'd feel a little better about it.

Thanks for allowing me to vent, complain, and whine a bit about my wrecked G fellas. It helped to get some of the anger and frustration over this ordeal off my chest for a bit. Especially having to come into work which i sure didn't feel like doing. Good looking out.

I'm guessing they'll fix that in under a week. My car will be ready tomorrow, after 2 weeks in the shop.

Glad you are getting it sorted out and no one was hurt. Good move on not adventuring into more danger.

Might I suggest a dashcam (preferably 2 channel if you can afford it) will be a great investment. I have had people ding my doors at parking lots, back into me, and all sorts of cool videos of people getting flagged down by the cops. It's a decent investment that can pay huge dividends later and you can take it from car to car.

I have the blackvue single channel DR-600GW with the power magic pro for parking mode. Finally got it all setup and dialed in this week (had it plugged into cigg lighter for the longest time)

Your insurance may simply reimburse you a certain amount each day for the rental. It will be up to you if you want to pay the difference on the Corvette rental or not

Picked it up today. I'm thankful it still drives perfect. But, the panel (fender) alignment seems a little off and the new drivers side headlight doesn't match the old passenger one. I don't know, if i should complain to my insurance, body shop or just accept it as-is?

Hard to tell in the pictures, what's different about the headlights? I'd want the panel gap to be fixed better than it is, personally.

It's like the chrome underneath the lense is darker. Maybe it's a optical illusion because the plastic is so clear compared to my other one. I don't know! I did point out the headlight to the body shop. But, the guy who handled the repair wasn't there. He'll be back Tuesday.

That's because they installed a Sport Package headlight.

It's a little known feature of the Sport Package, that the lens housing is slightly darker than the non-Sport. Little known, because the difference is so freaking subtle, it was a dumb thing for Nissan designers to do in the first place. They should have gone all-in with gun metal. But instead, I guess they thought it would be fun to mess with our heads. The only way to see it is to put a Sport and non-Sport G37 side by side...

...or in your case, install one of each on the same car, LOL.

Thanks for the info! It's definetly going back now. I guess they are all colorblind or don't care.

That's one way to approach it.

However... objectively considered, and subtle difference notwithstanding, the Sport headlight is more appealing than the non-sport, right? So offer to split the purchase cost on of a replacement lens for the passenger side, as long as they install it.

Yes, it does look better! When you say "lens" are you
talking about the "whole" headlight or can individual pieces be replaced?

The whole kit-n-kaboodle. No parts.

And once you get that done, you might notice that your side sills have slightly less presence to them than the side sills on the G37S. That's another Sport Package feature that runs under the radar.

I personally wouldn't have minded that one bit, paying the difference. Even for a week. My anti-corvette rental is a 2015 Altima base model 4 banger. It already has 27,000 miles on it and idles rough. But it is what it is. At least i won't have to drop a lot of $ for fuel till next Thursday.

Hope you get yer G straight Kb. Not being satisfied with it and being able to see things that irk you should definitely be brought up to yer Ins. Co. attention. They might not be satisfied with the work either and get you straightened out.

The drama continues. Ran over a 6" steel shank and got a flat tire ruining the passenger rear 5 month old Yoko YK 580. Discount road hazard warranty took care of the tire. But, they had trouble balancing due to a bent rim and it's out of specs. Both my passenger rims were supposedly re-finished and my drivers front replaced due to the accident. So, besides the poor panel alignment and mismatched headlight. I have a bent rim too!
