New G-owner here, did I overpay, and can you help identify a squeak?
New G-owner here, did I overpay, and can you help identify a squeak?
Hi everyone, I've owned thirty cars now and this is the only car i've owned that I've joined a thread for and to discuss. Now first, I'm not sure I belong here. I just purchased a 2007 G35, not G37, however, the G35 forums all seemed focused on first generation models.
I purchased my G35 two weeks ago, I'm from Ohio and rear wheel drive cars have always been a nightmare to own, now that I live in the sun I figured why not. It all happened so fast, someone made me a good cash offer on my 2008 Honda Accord with 122k miles, in fair condition. I sold my Honda for $9,500 cash and purchased my Silver G35 sedan for 12k ( he was asking 13.5k, however, he had to move back to France)
My G35 has 75k miles, excellent condition, very clean, premium and technology package. Was 12k a fair price?
My next question is about an annoying little squeak, the squeak won't go away, mechanics are clueless. I know it could be a million things, It almost sounds as if it's coming from the dash, I am only twenty, so I hope it's not too costly of a repair!
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your input.

This is actually my thirty first. When I was sixteen I only had $550, I bought a POS 92 Nissan truck with 200k miles, cracked windshield, rusted out, barely started. I found a guy on craigslist with a 1997 200SX SE-R, 145k miles, clean, keyless entry ETC. I contacted him and two days later we traded straight up. I proceeded to trade that car, worth about $2500 for a 99 3000GT base model, clean car, only 107K miles. I sold that car a month later for $5,000 and that's when the light bulb clicked. I realized I could make money buying, trading and then selling the car worth more money. I've done this several times now, now I focus on other business ventures, however, sometimes I still flip cars on the side. It's really easy to do actually.
Thanks again!
Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find there's a wealth of information on here. The V36 G35 is the same body style as the G37, but the G37 is differentiated by the 3.7L engine and 7AT transmission (the 6MT is the same between both models) versus the 3.5L engine and 5AT transmission.
I would recommend subscribing to the G37 Sedan chat thread here:

Noooooo, I got the g35 to keep.
I can't buy and sell cars out here, I did all that in Ohio.
I've never owned a car for over a year. My plan is to keep this one for five
