When I was buying, there wasn't a single one within a reasonable driving distance of chicago to test drive. Ended up ordering instead. While waiting, one dealership got a used one in (2010 MY in late 2011). There were several 6mt coupes available.

Hopefully this helps resale value somewhat. Only 16K miles on my '12 MY.

I test drove a 6mt 'vert at CarMax just to get a feel for the gearbox. Poor salesman, I redlined the first 3 gears merging on 485

South Blvd, CarMax is a great place to check out a bunch of cars at one stop to do some eliminating and only have to deal with one salesman.

That's a coincidence. One of my first experiences to the G37's manual transmission was a friend's 2010 6MT Vert that he loaned me for the week. Car felt real heavy, but also weirdly responsive. I think maybe because the 6MT Vert has shorter rear gears than our 6MT Sedans. And the Vert 6MT doesn't have LSD, which seems an odd thing.

Yeah, it's rare. And it's totally worth it, IMO.
I didn't think of the 6MT as being uncommon, but you make a valid point. I remember I called a dealer once and I wanted a MT gear oil/rear diff service. First I had to explain to the service writer that Infiniti does make a 6MT and that I'm not mistaking it for an shiftable automatic. Then I had to explain to her that my rear wheel drive car does not have a front diff and a transfer case. I was irritated at the time, but I laugh now. Your comment reminded me of it.

8,635 G37's available for sale on Autotrader right now in the U.S. 289 MT's. 51 sport sedan MT's. Plus a brief look through the main pictures and I can tell some of the sedans listed as sport/6MT are journey models.

So less than 1% of all G37's. Pretty cool.

They are virtually non-existent in Colorado. I drove all the way down to a Cadillac dealer in Denver (about 70 miles) that was advertising a G37S with manual transmission only to find it was in fact a 7AT with shift paddles.

After that I made sure that I confirmed either through interior pictures or a conversation with the dealer that it was a real 6MT. I was able to find a 6MT coupe in the area to test drive, but I ended up going to California to buy my 2011 CPO sedan.

similar experience here....

Looked around for months for a 6sp S model to replace my 03 maxima titanium edition. I didn't really care what color as long as the miles were low. Lost out on one in Florida then looked for 3 more months. Found a 2011 vibrant red S model with 6spd. Took a bus 6 hours away and drove it back. I haven't seen another sport in the 3 months I've owned it.

I learned of their rarity when I randomly walked into an inifiniti dealer, the salesman said he had a treat for me, a '11 black 6mt sedan with 40k miles. Went home to think about it and some guy from another state drove to the dealer to buy it the next day. I kind of regretted not buying it but I ended up with a '12 graphite with 33k miles from carmax last September. Out of curiosity I kept looking at their inventory since then and there have been none, only coupes and convertibles. Much like Furlow did, I also looked at autotrader and to conclude, if you find one with decent miles and in good condition, jump on it.

after 6 months of searching locally and across Canada back in 2010, i gave up hope finding a CDN unit. there were 2 new black/black 6MT sedans on Quebec and 1 used white/tan unit local to me. neither of those color combos worked for me.

i finally found a match on this forum's classifieds - blue slate/black with premium & nav and tasteful OEM mods as well as a few performance upgrades. i had the car shipped from Baltimore to Vancouver for $1750 as that was far cheaper than my time and travel costs for ~5000kms. i was uneasy about doing a long-distance deal like this, but over 4 years later and everything has worked out great and i'm still geeked every morning to run the G through the gears. it has also been a fun car to slowly mod over time. latest mod: GTR start button!

at any of the local Nissan/Infiniti meets i am always the only 6MT sedan guy, and very few coupes are manual as well. i actually see more of the '07-'08 G35S sedans in manual compared to manual G37S sedans up in Canada. most of those guys have added the Akebono BBK so it can be tough to tell if they are '09+ or not.

Wow thanks for all the feedback guys. Makes me appreciate mine a little more. I wasnt even in the market for a g37s when I picked up mine a month ago. Test drove it and chose it over the TSX I was also looking at.

I must have been lucky when I was searching. I was looking at both new and used G37S 6MT sedans. Back in August/September of 2010, I saw about 5 to 6 available. 1 in Charlotte, 2 in Texas and 2 in the DC/Maryland area.

Had my car shipped up from Charlotte.

I learned a valuable lesson today. One can still drive a 6mt after breaking an ankle.... So long as the broken foot is the right one. Stopping is challenging however. Still wouldn't give up my 6mt.
