Am I the only one that replaces windshield wipers once maybe every 2 years?

I feel like maybe I am crazy or not abusing them much. I live in the northeast so we get our fair share of extreme weather. Whenever they get streaky I just clean them off with some rubbing alcohol and they are brand new again.

Vinegar also works well to remove that baked on road grime as well. Just my 2 cents. I am running the Rain-X but since the OP in another thread mentioned how bulky they are, I am now noticing it and going back to my OEM's.

I have always replaced wipers every 6 months with all of my other cars. I would not have to buy anything expensive and they do just fine. That being said, I have never owned a car like my G and I really don't want to have something other than the OEM because I like how they look and the low profile. So if I fork out the cash for the OEM, I would want them to last longer and may look to doing what I can to have them working for a couple of years. I'm nearing 100k miles so I have to do plugs, maybe time to change the Trans fluid too. So I might just have to deal with cheapies for a bit so the wife doesn't throw too much of a fit.

^ just grab a few sets of OEM refills if you do 6 month re+re's (which seems like a lot, btw). for ~$10 total you'll have a set that performs as new, with the same OEM wiper arm for style points.

I didn't know there were refills for the OEM wiper blades. It didn't seem like they were refills. Will check that out today.

Yup, you should be able to find a local dealership that will sell it online for 7$/side. Online you can get away with $5/side, but shipping is another 10$ for both.

Through and through, you should be able to get it for around $14 in hand.
