The guy I talked to was Scott Vanderheide: svanderheide@fontananissan.com He told me they had the badge for the sedan, I'm just not sure if it is a different part number.

you just answered your own question. Who cares when its not modded...even when I see stock G37S I could care less to look at anything on the car.

If a G is modded then it has my attention and at that point, I dont need an S on the trunk to accept the mods. Plus Once I see its modded, I always tend to check out wheels/brakes first and then make my way around the rest of the car.

So I just got off the phone with Juan at Fontana NISSAN, and the JDM NISSAN grille emblem part # for the sedan was the same part # that Tom Hesser NISSAN sold me. Juan said that you will need to use the JDM Skyline V36 front grille in order for that emblem to fit properly. This was news to me since I thought the grilles were the same across both markets and the prongs on the backside of the Infiniti and NISSAN emblems would be spaced accordingly for either to work. In any case, if you want the JDM grille, it's $280 USD and obviously they sell the emblem separately for about $30. A bit disappointing for my situation.

That's a bummer and not at all what Scott told me. He said the Nissan emblem would work on our grille, no problem.

Yeah, I actually called back and asked for Scott because I was a little miffed that their website implies the JDM NISSAN emblem is a direct fit for the USDM Coupe front grille. I asked him why this would be the case for the coupe, but not a direct fit for the sedan and he really didn't know. He also validated that JK00A part number as being the correct fit for the sedan front grille, but had no firsthand experience on whether it fit. I asked him how many of these he had sold to other sedan owners and if there was any fitment issues. All he could tell me is that he sold two back in Sept '16 and was not aware of any problems. He wrapped up the call by saying that we were essentially trying to put a part on a car that it was not designed to go on and there's going to be some troubleshooting... LOL. Not really helpful. I can tell you that the ...JK00A emblem would not fit on my grille. The prongs would not clear the slats in the grille. I also verified that I received the part # I was supposed to. The part # was imprinted in the plastic on the back of the grille and it matched the box and what I ordered.

That sucks when you call a place to buy a part that they say will fit and it does not fit and they claim to not know the answer to simple questions. Guess what? If you don't know how a part works, you probably should not be selling it in the first place.

Do you think the Nissan badge you got that did not fit could be made to fit with some dremel tool work or securing it in a "non-factory" way? I only ask because I cannot picture the way it does not fit without really seeing it.

I agree, it's annoying. Hesser NISSAN and NISSAN of Fontana are both guilty of that. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the JDM grille so that the emblem works. I've already debadged my trunk, have the NISSAN wheel center caps and would like this to complete the exterior look (totally get that it should also include JDM headlights, sidemarkers, and taillights). Scott is researching it right now and will get back to me with availability. I'm hesitant to dremel the NISSAN badge in the event that it looks jerry-rigged. My existing grille is so beat up from rock chips and hard water spots, that having a new grille wouldn't be a bad thing. Who knows though, Scott may come back and say that they can't get it.

That is very likely. I asked him about the Nissan horn cover and floor mats and he said he would get back to me. He must have forgot as I e-mailed him again a week or two later and just said he could not get either part.

My grille is in really good shape. Do you think I could make that emblem work? I am just trying to picture what about it does not fit exactly.

I wish I could be of more help here. All that I can remember is that the JDM NISSAN front emblem had four prongs on the outer edge of the chrome circular shape. Two fat ones and two skinnier ones. On the inside, backside of the emblem, there were the two plastic pieces that extended straight out and had sort of a catch on each of them to interface with the two rectangular holes of the grille. So when it works properly, those will snap into place to secure the emblem and the four prongs slip in-between the slats of the grille to stabilized and keep it centered. The problem on the JDM NISSAN emblem was that the two largest prongs (the main ones on the L and R sides; they extend vertically) were too tall to slide in-between the horizontal slats of the USDM Infiniti grille. So it would get hung up and I was never able to determine that if it cleared those two spots, would the rest of it line up without any issues and snap into place? So, unfortunately, I don't have any more info than that. It just didn't fit and I wasn't going to make it fit at the time. Instead, I worked with the dealer to get it returned for a refund and they were going to try and help me locate the correct part...which never happened.

No problem. Let me know how it goes with tracking down the right grille. Maybe when you get the right Nissan badge you can take a few pics of how it fits or does not fit with the stock grille and if you think it is possible to make it fit with a little work.

Sounds like I may need to prod Scott a bit based on how your experience with him went.

Will do on the report out. In fact, full write-up with pics and details so no one else has to go through this trouble. #shouldntbethishard

Speaking of sedan badges, has anyone had any luck finding a Nissan steering wheel horn cover or Nissan/Skyline floor mats that fit our cars? I found some 370GT floor mats, but no luck at all on the steering wheel horn cover.
