G37 BODY INTEGRITY according to consumer reports

While G37 is pretty consumer reports car, consumer reports gave it very low score in body integrity. G37 had one of the lowest body integrity score in the class.
engine and transmission above average;
body integrity way below average (all black)

What do you guys think?
From my experience consumer reports is pretty accurate when it comes to those scores.
Would you agree with CC when it comes to body integrity of G37 ?

cheers

Lots of squeaks and rattles as the car ages. More than is acceptable for a luxury brand.

In fairness, my car is 7 years old and I have stiffer than stock suspension and stiff low profile larger diameter tires. But my wife's G sedan is a year newer, fewer miles, and all stock and it has more body integrity issues than it should.

Where is that shown? In this chart.....body Integrity varies of course by Year,,,,,but above average and average seems to be the norm....with Average being the absolute lowest rating......

Not sure if body ratings would include paint, but the paint is soft. My 2011 G has FAR more hood chips than my 2006 CTS. Plus, I second Black Betty's response.

You'd have to export that chart and post it as a pic. If you're not a member, you can't see it.

There is slightly difference between different year models but they are either all black (way below average) or half black (below average).

And yes paint is included in body integrity. But I was actually surprised how low g37 score was in that category.
I'll try to take a pic of that page of CC.

My paint is garbage on my 09. The front is gone, the bumper looks like it was a textured paint and I have chips all of the way up to my windshield and front doors. It reminds me of early 2000's WRX paint.

My drivers door won't hold open either. I have the slightest incline on my driveway and all of the doors will hold open but the drivers. Very annoying when you are trying to load in/ out.

Rattles are better than my last BMW, but not even close to how solid the last Lexus was (but then you have to drive a Lexus)

Overall, it is still a blast to drive and I can overlook the other issues.

I second this response. My G37S has a few that I have chased - fixed some - haven't been so lucky with others. My wifes (now retired) was a bone stock G37 (both 2012s) - rattles in dashboard, glove box, rear deck, etc.

We are in a 'cold snap' right now - and the windshield 'noise' is annoying as crap to me. But as the temps warm up, the interior quiets down. It isn't cold for long in DFW area...so I tolerate it.

Hi, I own a 2012 G37X with 33,000 miles and 2 months ago I started noticing
some rattles in the dash and rear deck plus excessive road noise. I had 19"
aftermarket rims with low profile tires. I sold those and went back to the original 17" rims with Pirelli P7 cinturato all season tires and now the rattles
are gone and no more road noise. No more wheel mods for me. regards

I was actually looking to buy 2012 G37 RWD with only 20k but that car had too many chips all over front bumper and all over hood. It looked too bad for 2012 with only 20k miles in my opinion.

Also, leather on the driver seat was cracked in one spot pretty bad and side panel looked like it was glued by the dealer. Car had one owner and no reported accidents. Body looked straight.

I decided to look for other G37.

Our 07 & our 09 both w/ very "chip-happy" paint, the 09 has the self-healing clear coat which does work to smooth out very light scratches when left in the sun. Rattles in both cars and have just learned to deal w/ it The fun-factor when driving makes it a bit easier to look the other way.

Looks to me like the G scored pretty well actually, or at least average or better than. Sure you're not looking at the JX,QX60 and Q50 columns? The only thing for the G at worse than average are the brakes (edit: except for 2012 body hardware)

Yeah I just noticed that. I think I was looking at body hardware which is below average on G37 2012.
