The ground clearance issue is how the ARK catback hangs. the old design used to be a little lower so people with lower cars would scrape a little more. ARK has now redesigned that area and they fixed it so it doesn't hang as low.

I believe its lower around the mid section and flex pipe area

From: Framingham Ma,
I noticed the same thing more of the "burble" and less of the "hiss" which is what I was looking for

I can't imagine you would, actually. That resonator post-cat really destroys all the popping and burbling. My mechanic tends to agree as well. He noticed it immediately after I started up the car with the new cats.

I'm letting those suckers break in for a while and then depending on what kind of sound is developed, I may switch back to my unresonated X-pipe.

I like burble. My favorite burble is heavy throttle (but not WOT) and a building mid-range between 4-6K in 2-3-4.

I also like burble with cheese.

More burble and less wine would be my preference, with a side of cheese.

Are you saying the product has been updated to have more clearance? With this update, is it still lower than other, but by less? Also, when was the update, and how would one ensure that ordering one from a vendor would yield the newer spec?

The issue in the original design were the flex pipes before the X pipe, as CC did point out they are different now.

I'm not sure how much higher the flex pipes are in the new design, maybe ANMVQ can take a side profile shot of that section to show the ground clearance.

Original Version in the red box (using these old pics because this is all I have before the exhaust was molested by the streets of Houston):

New version (from OP's post):

I have the older version but as Tony pointed out there are some changes.

I believe they revised it when they changed the catback to fit both the RWD and AWD sedans

Ah, so are you saying that any AWD version would be revised? I have an X model.
