^ Yes. The only thing you need to be aware of is that this will only work for 2010+ models. If you have a 2009, you'll need to invest in additional parts and the newer headlights.
Also, if your G has the technology package with the radar sensor for ICC, you'll need a different lower center grille.
I did the 10+ front sport swap on my 09, it is actually very easy and all you will need extra is obviously the headlights, 10+ grille and the windshield washer fluid reservoir, the part number is 289101NF0A for that, it has to be 2010 and up otherwise the sport bumper's fog light cradle won't fit against the old washer reservoir.
All, and I repeat ALL of the bumper hardware, brackets, rubber lining, clips, screws etc will just come over from the old bumper. I had a bare sport bumper and everything was there to do the swap. Luckily the fenders are the same. It's a night and day difference, sport lip helps too
What's up, I want to literally do the same exact Thing! I have g37x Sedan 2013. And I have the nonsport bumper and i want to switch to the sport bumper. So should I just copy everything you said? And I would be fine? Or is there a new way since this is from a year ago.
Nothing new. It's actually very easy. I chose to have the shop that painted the bumper for me install everything even though I could have done it myself. I just didn't want to knick any of the new paint during installation. They even did it themselves so they had to fix the paint they messed up. That would have cost me about the same as what they charged me so it was technically a wash. If you would rather take the chance, you could save yourself some money. Like I said, it's not hard at all to do.
Maybe it will make more sense when I take the bumper back off to fit the lower grille, but what holds the lower grille in? I got the lower in last night and can't wait to fill that big opening.
When you click on the link, it shows options for the same part number but for the X, Journey, and Sport. This may be a dumb question but does anyone know if there is a difference?
Big thanks to OP for this thread. All the best info for a great swap and perfect comparison pics. There are companies out there that will happily sell a conversion kit that comes with plenty of items already on the base model.
