Exclamation Smart Key Problem help!

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot wasn't sure where to post. I bought a 2010 G37x Sedan about a month ago and recently noticed the key would not come out. Well I finally got it pulled out and noticed the previous owner must of spilt pop on/in it. I took it apart and cleaned it and put the key back in and would still get stuck. Took it back apart and took the back(Where the battery was located) and soaked it in water for awhile. I let it dry out well and put it back together and now it wont work. The lock and unlock nor the proximity sensor will work. But I can stick in the smart key port and start the car. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advanced.

You didn't soak the battery in water did you? I'd say open it back up and replace the battery and see if it comes alive.

Lol no I didn't soak the battery. I did replace the battery and still doesn't work. The sensor for the proximity sensor doesn't happen to be built in behind that plastic is it?

Make sure you still have the metal insert where the battery goes in on the back of the fob. Otherwise it will not work .

Should look like this before you put the battery in Smart Key Problem help!-rldq0so.jpg

All Infiniti's come with two. You should have received both at the time of purchase.
Obtain another one and use the one you have as a spare.
