Hey guys. I recently lowered my car on swift springs. I also installed the 19" coupe wheels. Now I am debating whether to install a front chin spoiler on my G. For those of you who have the spoiler installed. Can you provide any feedback on it. Pics will definitely help as well

Thanks

Gabe

I have debated this as well. I think it would look great, but am really concerned with clearance. With the same setup and car as you (except mine is an 09), I barely/comfortably clear stuff with the front without the front chin spoiler. So I decided to not buy and install one as I am going lower with coilovers soon.

Maybe you will come to a different conclusion, but it is just one less thing to worry about as you drive/park.

Must have for any S model IMO. Installation only took about 10-15 minutes.

It drastically changes the look of the car. I can honestly say that my car would not look as good without it and I essentially have the same mods as you.

I have one sitting in the garage that I go back and forth on whether to install. I think the front end looks just fine and bodywork is not as necessary as my last car. Bumper is smooth and modern like a spaceship, the front lip kind of breaks up the lines with its top edge. Maybe you guys who have done it can comment on my thread about the "permanent"ness of the install:

I personally think it flares out too much on the sides.

Another honest opinion for you, I think the chin spoilers look exceptionally good when you're lowered with next to no wheel gap (i.e. H&R springs, coilovers, or bags). A low drop, plus chin spoiler, side skirts and AKx rear diffuser look GREAT!

Not dropped yet, but I do have a "Rochester" style grille.

I dont think the car looks complete without it. Put me in that crowd. A mild drop and the front OEM Sport lip really looks great i.m.h.o.

It adds to the sportiness but then it makes the rear end look very bare. A proper rear diffuser will fix that.

The balance front to back is from Chin to OEM trunk spoiler, not the underside.

IMO

I completely agree. From the front, I think it looks fantastic. But the wrap-around corners don't agree with me; hard to say why. Too bulbous, I suppose. And whether you like it or not, you can't argue the fact that the Chin adds distinct new lines in the car that weren't there before, while diminishing the lines in the Sport Fog area. So... too many notes, Amadeus.

Also, unless your dropped, it looks way too high off the ground. Dropped, it looks really good, except then it juts your front end out that much more for clearance issues.

All that said, if I lived in a predominately flat geographic area, I would still get the chin, now that I've lowered the car on Swift springs. As things stand, no.

That looks fantastic. , blurry cell phone pic notwithstanding. And I appreciate the credit, because I'm assuming my grille was what inspired you to this mod. But know that I was similarly inspired by someone else, who was recommended to do this by 180 Custom, out of NYC. AFAIK, this is really a 180 Custom mod.

Original ideas are few and far between. The only one I can take credit for is the 4DSC decal, and even that one is obviously a derivative design.
