Got my 2012 infinity G37 Sedan today!

Hello guys,

I got my ( new to me ) 2012 infinit"i" G37 sedan today. I initially bought 2010 G37 coupe but after keeping it for a day, I had it replaced for this sedan.

here is my car --> my new car

I am coming from my old 2004 Acura TL which i drove for over 200k miles. car was still in excellent condition, but I had to sell it because of age and risk of failure.
My new car has 39k miles, I know its a little high for just 2 year old car but the interior and everything was better than one 33000 miles alternative.
I have to ask a couple of questions, since i plan to keep this car for about five years:
* Car's has black interior and its excellent. I want to keep the leather and dashboard in best condition. How you guys are maintaining the interior and how its reacting to car's age ? what to look for ?

* I have bluetooth connectivity and I cant seem to find A2DP option (media from bluetooth). what am i missing here ?

* the media box - can i add songs to it from USB drive ?

* with 40k starting, what should be my next precautionary maintenance ?

* There is a scratch near gear console. can i replace that trim ?

* I got 100k miles / 4 years warranty from infinity, can i drop my car an inch ?

* Is there a way to use backup camera while driving ?

* I want to keep my steering wheel in same brand new condition, any advice will help.

* How reliable is transmission? i felt a bit harsh while downshifting. I noticed this in all G37's i tried. Sedan or coupe.

* road noise, is this normal ?

* sorry for being douche' bag i have so many questions lol.

Thank you so very much for reading my question book

I want to learn to maintain my car first and then start with most common mods. I don't know much about this car yet, so nothing planned at this time.

That is a very low price. I got more for my 2011 G37S with 40,500 miles on it when I traded it.

They must have raped the last guy on the trade.

these guys are super famous for their excellent price. look up their website, they have atleast 2000 cars in their lot. they even had merc E350 amg for 40k lol !
they are legit, they even let me change my car. Bought G37 coupe last night and swap it out with a sedan the next day! they buy off leased cars and all cars have low miles.

Congrats on the new G and welcome to the site, I'm sure you're pretty happy w/ the upgrade in power

The transmissions are reliable, just a bit quirky during slowdown/coasting and can have a bit of lag when you hop on it, takes a bit of driver "adjustment" but I'm pretty happy w/ it overall.

The trim piece can be ordered but if you want a bit different look you can wrap your trim pieces too~ here's a link about that~
https://www.myg37.com/forums/body-in...im-pieces.html

As far as lowering your ride, the mildest drop springs would be Tanabe, Swift, Eibach & Tein H Techs (not the S Techs, they drop deeper). Check the Suspension folder for more drop specificsand the media share section for pics of dropped Sedans.

Have fun!

* I have bluetooth connectivity and I cant seem to find A2DP option (media from bluetooth). what am i missing here ?

What kind of device are you using? Once connected to BT, my iPhone's audio seamlessly played through car speakers

* the media box - can i add songs to it from USB drive ?

I believe reading the media box (on-board HD) was discontinued in MY2010. My MY2013 doesn't have it. USB HD can be used as a substitute via USB in center console.

* with 40k starting, what should be my next precautionary maintenance ?

CPO? Either way, the typical maintenance schedule in the manual should be sufficient IMO

* There is a scratch near gear console. can i replace that trim ?

* I got 100k miles / 4 years warranty from infinity, can i drop my car an inch ?
I believe susp mods are very unlikely to void any warranty coverage, provided problems are not directly related to susp

* Is there a way to use backup camera while driving ?

Where there's a will there's a way, but may be more complex than simply looking at a schematic and hardwiring, likely a software issue, but someone more knowledgeable may correct me.

(Have a company car with an A/M backup cam that can be turned on whenever, interesting to use at traffic lights)

* I want to keep my steering wheel in same brand new condition, any advice will help.

Wash your hands and clip your fingernails?? Weird question lol

* How reliable is transmission? i felt a bit harsh while downshifting. I noticed this in all G37's i tried. Sedan or coupe.

Depends if it's 6 speeds or 7

* road noise, is this normal ?

Yes, also very dependent on tires but Infiniti is fairly well known for above avg cabin noise (also expect rattles eventually)

* sorry for being douche' bag i have so many questions lol.

Bluetooth audio streaming only comes with Navigation equipped vehicles. Looks like you don't have NAV. On 2009 models we have AUX inputs in the form of 3 RCA jacks to accept video and audio. I use AUX to connect AURIS a bluetooth device to stream music off my phone.

If you notice any peeling around the steering whee trim get it replaced under warranty. Use Lexol leather conditioner.

* How reliable is transmission? i felt a bit harsh while downshifting. I noticed this in all G37's i tried. Sedan

I have 60K on my 2009. I've had several updates done to fix transmission issues. Last update seems to have fixed the harsh downshifts. If you are under warranty take it in to see if you are due for any transmission updates. My car has been reliable and all I have done to it is regular oil changes along with cleaning the throttle bodies every 15K miles. I do it myself. Regular maintenance and you are good to go. Save money on things you can do yourself like replacing air filters and in cabin filter. Enjoy your new ride.

Congrats on picking an infiniti, i had an 06 TL for a while and i definitely prefer the G37. On a side note - not trying to be a downer, but i would definitely get that car inspected by a good mechanic. That dealership has BBB complaints for selling "clean" carfax cars that have had major damage that was not reported. A ton of their cars on the website have bad carfax's too.

Do search for the 7AT transmission update (i think the revision was 027d that was most recent)- i printed out the TSB and the dealer did the update for free and it fixed the harsh downshifting and in my opinion the car shifts a lot better now- they also replaced my steering wheel trim that was peeling for free. Find a good dealer and a good service advisor - this helped me.

The Media Box survived mid-way thru 2012. I have it on both of my '12s...

BUT - I do not believe you can add songs to it from USB drive....only from CD.

I've been to the Off Lease dealership before, the only thing I noticed is that they had a lot of minor accidents vehicles. They do have TONS of G37's
