Take your grille off, drop it off at a body shop and have them spray the fins black. It shouldn't cost you more than $125-$150.

Top speed isn't a cat-back. You use ur factory Y-pipe. So it's really a Y-back exhaust.

A aftermarket y-pipe alone will most likely be $300 or so.

I was set on getting a top speed y-back with a motordyne y-pipe but I got lucky and ended up getting a FI Cat-back exhaust used for $900

I'm planning on wrapping my roof with gloss black vinyl. Has anyone tried the vvivid black gloss vinyl or should I use the one from 3M? The one from vvivid is cheaper than the 3M, but not sure if their is a difference in the quality of the vinyl

Gloss Black ? The VViViD Shop

VIVID Vinyl is SO BAD.
-It dosen't work with heat, it just bubbles
-It wrinkles
-It's thin
-The finish isn't as nice.

Didn't know the vinyl was that bad. Read a few reviews on them and sounded like they were happy with them I guess I'll stick with the 3M to be on the safe side. Don't want to install crappy vinyl. Thanks

iCrap speaks the truth, the cost savings in cheap vinyl isn't worth it, you'll be sorry almost immediately.

Honestly, isn't vinyl itself, in some respects, a cost savings? In the sense vinyl vs. painting, or vinyl vs. carbon fiber? The cost savings really has to end somewhere so the mod still holds true to the original intent.
When you cost save on a cost-savings to the point of low quality, it bears no resemblance to the original idea anymore.

Well not really actually.
Vinyl is far more durable than paint, easier to get a nice finish and if you get bored of the look you can always just take it off.

A proper 3M vinyl job looks identical to a painted piece.

I've been sitting on my bluebatmobile GT-R taillight overlays for nearly a year. I feel it will cheapen the car. But, I think it's attributed to the lack of visual mods I have. Headlights? No way, crack those headlights open and paint em, and swap out the projector lens. I appreciate that mod every time I drive at night.

hit me up if you want some templates to paint your taillights GTR style, it will look much better, and your awesome G that you're putting together deserves it

Holy arts-and-crafts batman!

But seriously that looks amazing on your sedan thanks for the offer. I'll consider it but would be concerned for a couple reasons

1 - It seems like a permanent option which may not be too smart concerning legality in PA

2 - I am arts and crafts challenged and not sure i could pull it off!

Dunno, you seem to be doing a great job on your G thus far, and the taillight project is more about sanding, painting & waiting more than art skills. I'm fairly certain you'd knock this out of the park. As far as permanent, you could always sand them down and just shoot clear coat on them to get them back, and the GTR style lets much more light through and you keep your side markers intact so should be much less likely to attract the fuzz
